Vonzell is a far better performer and entertainer than either Carrie or Bo. She was the most improved throughout the entire competition. She's not the best singer, but technology takes care of that. People pay to see the performance, not necessarily the music. Most of it is lip-synched anyway.

Now TTD, about those Clive Davis songs:
But they stick Carrie with "Crying" by Roy Orbison? Outside of KD Lang, no one has ever been able to duplicate that sound. And Carrie did not do a good job with it at all.
Bo may get stuck with the AI tag, but he's better off as the runner up. Rocker fans like their image and Bo has it-looks, hair (even though nasty looking) and he can sing and give an audience a great profermance. Plus, he generally seems like a nice guy. He'll sell lots of records and tickets. Without the 5-year AI contract, he can make his money any way he wants.
morefeatherz said:You still never answered Jugner's question. What's the obvious reasons Vonzell didn't win? You've simply stated why she should win.
When I mentioned she cracked under pressure, I was refering mainly to the show where she was crying, told Paula she had a really bad day and her singing sounded like crap. To me that's cracking under pressure. I'm sure Bo and Carrie had bad days too, they just didn't bring them to the show
Or maybe she was simply trying to pull the sympathy strings to win votes like Scott was doing with his oh-boo-hoo my daddy never wanted me to sing and told me I would never be anybody crap. Did he want crackers with that whine?
Vonzell and Scott are gone and it's over with. Bo and Carrie were the two best there. They were the finalists. America said so. Get over it.
Now back to our regularly scheduled programs..
TickledToDeath said:Good point raised about BO and the AI tag. He is not a POP star and probably shouldn't be. He is a rocker. That is his thing and should be nothing else but a rock star. This year I thought AI was growing up by having rockers and it was looking good there for a while until the end where it was shown that they are still tinny bopper pop. Bo and Constintine gave them maturity there for a spell but alas they resorted back to kiddy pop. Bo will get a contract and will do well without a pop contract. He got exposure to a massave audicnce and that will do him far better than some light weight pop contract would have.
I agree about Carrie not doing Roy Orbison any justice with "Crying". I bet he was Crying in pain hearing it where ever his soul is.
Bo will eventually sell out large arenas while Carrie will have only the smaller venues.
As for Vonz. She will need all the technology in the world. That techno disco sound is a JOKE and ruined music as far as I am concerned. GOD I HATED the 70's sound! My ears and brain will never recover.
The AI version of the Brady bunch in the AI tour makes my ears bleed and forms blood clots in my brain! Bo and Constintine are so out of their element with them.

will you please vote for me now?
Give me a break. She cracked under pressure and crumbled and Scott had more escapes than Houdini and that's the only reason he got as far as he did.
Kis, you still never stated the 'obvious' reasons Vonzell lost. Every contestant in the show is probably a criminal lol. They robbed us all of a hour of our lives each week watching them whine and cry for votes.
Call me paranoid, but it wouldn't surprise me if the show was rigged from the start. Once it gets down to the top 12 the producers already know the outcome. The phone in crap is just to pay sponsors and make the networks money. They throw in your "should have lost long ago" losers like Scott just to give validity to the call in scheme. It's all a big scam and yes I have been suckered like the rest of us.
As for the Best Buy $14.95, I could think a lot more useful purposes than over-rated crying, whining, over-marketed losers to spend it on.
But that's just me. And as you said, it's all a matter of preference.
morefeatherz said:First off, I totally agree that I've wasted far too much time on this. I just want to add that:
(1) Kis, unless you've been shaking your magic eight ball again, you have no idea of my age so you are not qualified to tell me you are 'substantially older than I am'.
(2) When you put yourself in front of 30 million people and state you want to be a star and all that goes with it, you are going to be judged, criticized, slammed and hammered by far more than just me. If you want to break down and cry and can't deal with a 'bad day' you don't need to be there. Celebrities are photographed, quoted and hounded 24/7, which is a far cry from one hour a week.
(3) I am judged everyday at work, home, and by the standards I set for my family and do just fine. I have no desire to be a star and try to do something I can't handle in front of 30 million people. However, as a viewer I am more than entitled to my opinion be it good or bad. That's why it's called "American Idol". It's 'America's' opinions and phone calls that decide the winner. Why? Because the constestants ASKED to be judged and given an opinion about their abilities.
Being an 'armchair quarterback' is the entire point of the show. That's what all those phone calls are supposedly about. But if you don't get that it's time to move to another show.
jugner said:Kis, I'm not picking on you, I'm just trying to follow what your saying. I get that you're pick was Vonzell, but why wouldn't people watch if Vonzell had won?
I agree, she was the most improved by far. But saying she was the best performer, it's your opinion, but she never moved more than six feet from the mic stand, she could sing, but her performance skills need some improvement.
I'm not a fan of R&b, just never cared for it, so I won't buy a Vonzell record anyway. I've even never liked Whitney Houston. I'm a country fan, but never been a big fan of female country singers, just the way country music is, the way a lot of country songs are, they sing about lost love, I relate more to men snging about women, then womena about men, so I won't get anything by Carrie probably. I do have a couple of Lynard Skynard CD's, and I think Bo will sing like that type of music (Southern Rock), so I'll buy that.
kis123 said:You're right-you've invested way too much into this. Your opinions are received, and I respectfully disagree with most of them. It's not going to take any skin off your nose and I certainly won't lose sleep over it either.
I don't know how old you are, but how a person handles themself in a conversation tells me a lot. I don't even have to know, it's really not that important to me.
Regardless of anyone's opinions (including my own), I give all of them credit for going as far as they went. Their lives will be changed forever because they took a step many would never choose.
As for me, this little banter has been somewhat entertaining, but there are more pressing matters on the earth to deal with. Time for me to move on.
