I know there are a number of fellow gamers among us, namely D&D and 40K fans, but is anyone else in the thrall of that insidiously addictive collectible miniatures game HeroClix?
I usually field one of two themed teams:
Team: Invasion Earth! - The heavyweights of the Marvel & DC rosters of alien warlords and extraterrestrial conquerors banded together at last! Annihilus, Blastaar, Brainiac 13, Darkseid, Doomsday, Sinestro, Super Skrull, and Thanos; with an assortment of Skrull, Intergang, and A.I.M./Hydra goons to represent their invading minions. In a 2,000 point game, they successfully took out Superman, Batman, Spider-Man, and the Hulk before finally getting worn down by the Fantastic Four.
Team: Underworld Unleashed! - A mixture of Batman Enemies and Sinister Syndicate members, with some Masters of Evil and Injustice Leagers thrown into for bad measure. - Bane, Black Manta, Blizzard, Boomerang, Bullseye, Catwoman, Clayface III, Constrictor, Doctor Octopus, Enchantress, Gorilla Grodd, Harley Quinn, Hobgoblin, Joker, Kingpin, Mad Hatter, Man-Bat, Mister Hyde, Parasite, Riddler, Sandman, Solomon Grundy, Titania, Weather Wizard, Whirlwind, and Vulture. My regular opponents have agreed upon the house rule that Tean Icon abilities that work identically may be interchangable, so this blend takes advantage of that quite well. (i.e., if two adjacent Batman Enemies can share the highest attack value between them, and two Sinister Syndicate members can do the same, then a Batman Enemy can share the Attack value of a Sinister Syndicate member.) I'm eagerly awaiting this month's new X-Plosion booster set so that the Scorpion, the Mandarin, and Crimson Dynamo may join their ranks.
