This is something I've always been curious about. I have a Master's in Biochem and work at a large Pharma company. Any other Biologists, Chemists, or Biochemists lurking here?

Well, I'm not smart enough for all that. XD
But if there are, then lees look out-- there's likely to be some interesting inventions to come. 😉

I know we have a phenomenal Doctor of Pharmacy in these parts...and I have a clinical Doctorate in Physical Therapy...

As for folks in labs saving the world through beakers and petri dishes...well, I dunno...

I hope they are here!!! That would be fabulous!!! I believe tickling transcends all professions...so bring on the scientific lers and lees!!! We'll get this tickling thing down to a science!!! 😉

I'm majoring in Computer Science, but that hardly counts. Maybe if I pursue the Biology minor that I have been thinking about... Either way, I doubt anything particularly interesting will come out of me. Hopefully others have better luck.

I'm into Conputer science too, but that doesn't mean we can't study tickling. we are needed in conjuction with robotic designers to create the tickle bots of the future. we are the future of tickling, man.

I have a BS in Chemistry, and I work in a lab interested in biologically derived anti-angiogenic therapies for cancer. Hopefully I'll be on to grad school soon and be able to call myself a chemist again someday.

Just out of curiosity, what sort of techniques do you use as a biochemist? Are you doing protein work, or does it have nucleic acid and/or tissue related stuff as well? Is it all In vitro?

I'm just about to graduate from my biological and medicinal chemistry degree 😀 wooo can't wait........ and then I'm going to be a plumber 😛

Don't feel so bad. I'm a year away from graduating with a degree in Behavioral Neuroscience and will end up an EMT.

You'll be making more. Think of that next time you call 911.

Mostly proteins. I work in a department that develops vaccines and monoclonal antibodies for therapy. We use many techniques for biochemical characterization such as DSC, cIEF, HPLC, CD Spectroscopy, ELISA, DLS, etc. It's challenging work and we often feel overworked at times but its rewarding to know that your work may someday help people with serious diseases.

I work in the lab for a diagnostic biotech company. I purify proteins, antibodies etc.

I don't know if I'm truly phenomenal yet...let me reach legendary and work my way up to phenomenal...LOL

Agreed...we need to set up a pretest post-test clinical trial to to settle the old fingers vs feathers debate. Hey Camel, wanna be part of the historical cohort???

Yersinia, I get to use anti-angiogenics on the treatment end (I'm a Board Certified Oncology Pharmacist). Are you working with any of the current 'nibs' or all with new, unreleased molecules? Are you in Phase I, II or III testing of your agents?

So you're the one developing drugs to cut off blood supplies to tumors, to effectively shrink them and prevent them from growing/metastasizing???

*bows humbly before such an amazing scientist*

You officially rock my stocks.

I do research on infectious diseases, deadly pathogens, that kind of stuff.

Hey Yersinia--would that be after pestis by chance? :dead:

Wow this thread is making my head spin LOL

I'm more with the soft sciences LOL Psych major here 🙂

Lol this clinical feather and finger tickling test is the one I wanna see. Oh and all of the Scientist in here we're gonna need a to put some speed on the Robotic Ticklers invention haha. Aaaah it doesn't get any better then this..........we've got the best team around here in this theater!!

Almost a microbiologist, oneday I might be able to go back and finish the degree and then get my phd
