Never even heard of it before, whats it about?

It's an online FPS that's a part of Half-Life 2, Episode 2. Manchester United 0. (Sorry, I'll stop that now.) The first game has been largely popular for what feels like the last decade or so, and while in my opinion it's not too much, it's incredibly balanced and, in the words of one reviewer, what little there is has been polished to a mirror shine.

Just for a bit more info, since I'm bored. As you may have gathered from the name Team Fortress, it's mainly territory control or capture the flag. There's a wide variety of jobs (which can be seen in the first half of the video here, the second half being the trailer for Portal) which means that whatever sort of game you like, you can probably find a good match in the jobs. In an interesting switch, there's no grenades, which is good considering some games (Wolfenstein, which I've watched my brother play far too often) people master them to hit spawn points and manage to make new people leave faster.

All in all, I'd say give it a shot. It comes with the rest of the Half-Life games and Portal in The Orange Box.
