Anybody Hear About The "Max Payne" Movie Coming Out?

It was a long time coming and now it is finally coming out. Fellow gamer fans should know this one. It is going to come out in October 2008.

yeah i loved the games they were pretty awesome i hope the movie does it justice.

Besides the Grand Theft Auto series, 'Max Payne' for me is one of the greatest games ever made. The 2nd game was hardly as good as the first, and it looks like the movie might reenact action sequences we were a part of in the game.

His voice even sounds similar to that of the voice in the game.

Here's hoping the film does the game justice.

It's going to suck. Any video game made into a movie sucks, and any movie made into a video game sucks.

Not that I want it to suck. I have both of his games. My favorite part is when you can watch what's on TV. Address Unknown looks like a good idea for a TV show.

I saw this trailer a few days ago.... It looks like it could be a great action film cinematically... especially since the director (John Moore) has a bit of camera experience himself.

A video game that violent getting a PG13 meeting means it's a bad movie.

ok, i've only played a little bit of the first game of Max Payne, but i'm confused. I thought the Max Payne game was a crime game. This movie looks more like a supernatural/cop movie, something that reminds me of Constantine. Did i miss the supernatural stuff in the first game by not playing it far enough, or are they taking extremely creative licensing with this movie?

i've known about Max Payne the movie since last year, this is one of the very few films i'll actually go see the afternoon following release.

I'm really looking foward to it, at Comic Con this year i watched several videos they had demonstrating the cinematography style they're going for on this one. I'll tell you right now, they're going to stay with the theme of the game, and the style of the third person camera views, definitely will have the john woo dives and the sweet abundance of symbolism.

I've been playing the first game with my best friend so we can get geared up for the movie, and funny enough this is the first game she kicks major ass in 😀 And my desktop just got a nifty graphics card upgrade so we'll be playing Max Payne 2 very soon after.

The games are fairly old, the last game was released 4 years ago i think so you can find it pretty cheap, definitely play through it, the story telling is done in a really unique graphic novel style with one of the best voices for narraration i have ever heard in a game, and from what i've seen from the special effects they used for symbolism, i definitely think it will make more sense if you play through the first game where symbolism was really used.

They're cheap. Less than $10 at gamestop. I think I paid $6 for the first one.
