Anyone else here a "Night-Owl" like myself?

What kind of problems can a sleep pattern like that cause ?

I've read a lot of stuff on this. Apparently people that live a nocturnal lifestyle are more susceptible to illnesses, chronic poor health, less energy, depression symptoms, and so on.

For me personally, a huge reason I sleep like this is because while I'm finishing school I live with my parents. I don't want to be up and around them 24/7 so I prefer to sleep most of the day away so I'm not having to deal with them. My mother can be a handful to be around for long periods of time. She's the "up your ass" about every little thing type of person. I like to sleep through the mornings into early afternoons, get up for classes or go to the gym, then go into work.

Hmm now I know .

While I was out of work for a couple of months I was regularly staying up til 4-5am every night, I didn't mind it too much at first, but then since I was getting up around lunch time I started to get annoyed at the fact that I was sleeping through half the day.

Although now im working again, with it being 9-5 shifts, by 10pm I'm usually shattered. Which makes me feel like an old man

I used to work third shift and it sucked. On my nights off I still had to stay up until 6 or 7 to maintain that balance. I remember watching 'One Day at a Time' reruns on E in the early morning lol. That being said, I am a night owl but unfortunately I work a 9-5 job and get up around 7.

During the week I usually go to bed by 12 so its cool but on weekends I can stay up til about 2 or 3.

I worked a sort of 2nd shift meets 3rd shift type of job. I worked from 6pm - about 3am in the morning 4-5 nights a week. On your days off it gets downright depressing at times. You sleep your whole day off away and then stuff up watching reruns of the same tv shows all night. Unfortunately, you adapt to it after a while and it becomes you.

On the rare occasion I'd wake up really early in the morning, I'd feel so out of whack for the rest of the day that I didn't know what to do with myself.

I always felt I slept the day away working that shift. I'm a night owl but I still want to get up by at least 11am if I'm off. When I was young, sleeping in was the norm but now I think I like to enjoy the whole day. Just getting older I guess.

I think this forum kind of keeps me attached to the night owl lifestyle too. I don't have a hell of a lot of privacy in my house and people are usually always around, so the late night is usually the only time I can relax and "do my personal business" when it comes to tickling clips.

I'm like that too. Being up at night I can write without interruption and look at fetish stuff in privacy. But on days I have to get up early I often can't sleep and am tired all day. Like tomorrow I have a doctor's appointment and pre-op at 11am so I'll probably be tired all day.

Oh I totally know what you mean. I had class yesterday at 11 am, the only early class I have this semester. I usually get up at 8:30 am for it, but sometimes knowing I have to get up like 5 hours earlier than I normally do it gives me anxiety and I keep looking at the clock thinking...."5 hours left to sleep, now 4, now 3, now fuck it I might as well just get up and go on no sleep than get a lousy hour or two." When I have an early appointment at like 8am, I'll usually just stay up for it and then take a 3 or 4 hour nap in the afternoon afterwards.

Like I said before, I don't think I'd still be on this sleep pattern, but I have all late afternoon courses at school because on the time they were offered, and I work at 6pm. I also live with the rents while I'm finishing school and I like to minimize time being around them so I dont want to get up at like 8am and sit around the house all day with nothing to do if I don't have work until like 6pm. What's the point to get up that early with no plans?

Back in college I somehow got by on 4 or 5 hours sleep and felt like crap all the time. Today I got up at 11am but at least I slept well (well 4 hours) the night before. The doctor of course made me wait an hour and a half to see him for 5 minutes which leads one to be even more tired. When I got home I tried to nap but any disruption of my normal sleep cycle usually means I won't sleep at a different time.

I'm tired now but I still intend to stay up until my normal 5:30am bedtime as the best thing to do is get back into my normal sleep cycle so hopefully I'll sleep normally tomorrow. Fortunately that usually works to restore my usual nocturnal balance. But being nocturnal has it's disadvantages when most people operate on a daytime schedule.:sheesha:

I am a night owl myself. I sleep everyday from 9am till around 4pm. I work night shift monday-friday 6pm till 6am, so on the weekends I don't bother switching back. I love the night life although it makes it very difficult for me to associate with most people around me or on here for that matter. There isn't many night owls, especially east coast ones on here, I don't think. I am probably wrong. My night owl life hurts my social life as well but I am getting a break next week and only working 4 nights a week. Yay me lol

I put a vistor message on your page about it but for everyone else, I work in printing
