For me, I always thought it was the complete reverse and exact opposite:

Well you'd be surprised to know that vore as a whole doesn't have to be exclusively defined or limited to just death by digestion in stomach acids or even painful digestion. IF you are remotely knowledgeable about this particular community at large like I am, you would recognize that non-fatal variants of vore exists. Like being stuck or trapped in someone's stomach indefinitely especially as a tiny creature exploring their predator's innards alive in one piece (the "exploration" part is actually the most fascinating and sexually arousing aspect of the fetish for me). There's even the absorption aspect (see Super Buu). I think childhood media like Dragon Ball Z and Super Sentai, and Big Bad Beetleborgs play a role in the development of this particular fetish.
