Tell us all what worked best for you when dealing with mice scritching in the walls at night and pooping in your coffee cup on the kitchen counter.

We used to have mice here during the winter until they fixed a hole in our outside building door. They would invade our apartment. In my experience, the jaw trap didnt work, as the mice would just lick the peanut butter off, and leave before the trap could snap them. What I found that worked for us were the old time conventional mouse traps. For some reason it just snared em, and they couldnt get away. We put them near the places we used to see the mice, and usually at night the mice would come out, go for the peanut butter, and they would get trapped. We caught every single one this way. Just my experience, but I guess each person has to try what they think will work for them.

My "herd" has thinned from 18 to 11 over the last year, but 11 cats tends to make mice an endangered species in my house.

Too bad the hairy bastards won't kill spiders...🙄

Awww, but Dave... Spiders are a good thing. They eat up all the other little buggaboos that would do more harm...flies, mosquitos, ants, dust mites, bedbugs, etc. (puts on announcers voice) Spiders. They aren't just for gardens any more. 😀

Well, you can keep them in the garden, then! We've had a new species move in from thier usual habitat farther north because of the colder climate over the last two years. I was wondering why I've seen fewer Orb spiders around this September, then saw these monsters actually catching the Orbs...these things are huge, hairy and ugly and you can have them if you want. 😎

Our 2 youngest female cats will eat damn near anything, and any bugs included....

or get a dog.....then again my dogs(my old dog and my new one) just want(ed) to play with the mice and make em dizzy...my parents have used all sorts of traps(always baiting with peanut butter and kept out of reach of the dogs)...they are currently using these ones that are beige with a red V on them...mom bought them at k-mart, they work about 50% of the time, otherwise..they lick the peanut butter and get away.

My next door neighbor has a garden ever year, and never cleans it up after the season is over, and harvest mice be coming in, so we use, baited traps in hot spots, combined with glue traps hidden nearby. So if the bait don't get ya, the glue will😛

Though the house I live in has been infested with mice since we moved in, it only started to cause a great deal of problems 2 years ago. They scamper everywhere in and around the house. Hell, when my room was clean, I remember one trying to scratch open my bedroom door, as well as scurrying across the strings of my electric guitar when I was trying to get some sleep. Went downstairs to sleep that night!

Anyway, things like rat poison in key areas where they are likely to hang around works (the ones in my house are probably smart enough not to eat it, but it does keep them at bay) as well as the conventional mouse traps in key areas. But from the sounds of things, peanut butter sounds like good bait. Must give that a try.
