Anyone here Power Rangers fans?

Im on the horns of a dilemma, sit back this is a somewhat of long story

Ive watched Power Rangers ever since I was in Jr. high, it was good television and a guilty pleasure for me. Of course my TV tastes matured of course but Power Rangers always stayed with me, that is until recently.

After Power Rangers SPD I just stopped watching because I felt the series lost its charm and attraction, but Ive seen clips of PR series that I havent watched and see that they're pretty good. So my question is simple....

Should I give these series a shot or not?

Normally I would agree that if it's not the original, who cares. But I've seen a few of the new ones and Saban has the rights again. It reuses the original intro and has bulk. Not nearly as good as the original, but hey, at least its a step in the right direction

Alot of the seasons past the orignals have been real hit or miss, to me its like the Ninja Turtles, you gotta know at some point that you cant get that magic back no matter how hard you try.

I remember my friend and I used to get stoned and do model cars sometimes while watching the original Power Rangers.

We loved the putties jumping all over the place.. We'd piss ourselves laughing.

I watched the original. my 5 year old wont even watch anything but the original. she changes the channel!

i grew up enjoying the original. I am not sure if the producers did on purpose but what I liked about it was it didn't take itself too seriously. I mean they had to know that the monsters even back then were not exactly real looking. I also got a kick out of they way the power rangers "vogued" (posed for every sentence) everytime they talked in costume. The martial arts was fun to watch and even the way they told stories. The characters and villians were likable. It just somehow made it badass.

I never knew why, in the Power Rangers movie, Trini and Zack were replaced with other actors. Seem they felt there would be a backlash of racism-- if people realized that they cast Zack a black as the black ranger and Trini an asian as the yellow ranger. Are you friggin' kidding me. I felt so cheated when they didn't have those two in it as the original cast. Its sad in a way that they didn't get cast in the movie because of fear of ridiculous people, in my opinion, that are the true racist and want to keep it alive in some shape or form.

Hi there!

Oh wow, I LOVE the original Power Rangers show! Has been a while I watched it though, but it was a great time growing up with it as well as re-watching it years later. Not sure how the newer ones are - if it interests you, maybe you could watch one or two episodes to see if they seem enjoyable to you. Sometimes it can be a bit difficult to get cozy with an unfamiliar show or cast somehow, all the different Power Rangers became confusing for me at some point. Happens quite often that whatever comes after the first movie or show is less exciting than what you've loved so much, unfortunately. Then again, it's most likely to ensure the originals have their own space within your heart which is something amazing. 🙂
