just looking to see if there are any other musicians here. i play bass, its an under-rated instrument...its very fun

I play the clarinet, but I haven't touched it in a while.

yonks ago...yes..!! If I had it all to do over again, I would go back to being the drummer, where I first began. the latest I played was guitar for a bluegrass band. before that I played horns; before that percussion.

Piano here. Technically, professional... I've accompanied musicals, and my going rate for parties is 50/hr... I rarely do piano gigs though. Mostly I play to make myself happy. And my mom likes to hear me sing while playing when I'm home. Mwah!

Believe it or not.... I play the piano

😀

I am doing it as a university course partially because I want to make a career out of it one day... and also because I doubt I'd be able to keep my mind to any of those sciency things (I can do them, I just don't enjoy them enough to work at them)

Also though, I play the drums and sing when needed.

I play several instruments, but bass was my first and the one I'm most proficient at. I also play keyboards, guitar, sing and have a working knowledge of several exotic instruments I've collected (dulcimer, banjo, violin, harmonica)

You're right about bass being underrated. A good bassist can carry a band, and a great bassist is essential in a power trio.

One Guess...

As to which instrument I play...hehehe

I have to echo what Dave said about bass players. Can't play (much less appreciate) great guitar leads without the rhythm section laying down a good pocket.

Used to play drums and keyboards/piano in the early - mid 90s when I had a local band thing goin on. Play nothing accept the turntables these days😛

Flute

for 20 yrs now( started when I was 7).. did the whole marching and concert band thing, but haven;t played regularly in the past 5 or 6 yrs or so..

I've joined a living history orginazation where my persona is a bard, so I intend on practicing a wee bit more. Fave things to play are Jazz pieces( ala Ian Anderson of Jethro Tull) classical( esp like Pucchinni(sp) and Mozart, and of course Medieval and Celtic inspired pieces( fave Fluitists are James Galway and Alexander Zonjic).

Also learning bits and pieces of the guitar. I can play a passible verison of Wish you were here( pink floyd ) and also quite a bit of Nickleback

I play drums and the piano. Neither overly proficiently, but enough to get me by.

My main talent is singing, though. 10 first place medals in vocal competitions.

Used to play.........

.......a lot of jazz piano, untill stopped by disabillity. Have backed some top jazz stars like Jean Touisant, Dave Ohigins, Dick Morrisey, Don Weller, Bill Watrous.

Did all my "straight" studying on Violin. Also have played Trombone. Now do a lot of tuned percussion and kit drumming (I can just about hold the sticks) and now I have started waving a stick at Brass bands.
