Why should we not revive old threads? Is there a rule saying not to?
I'm quite glad this thread was bumped as I had forgotten about these gifs and was thrilled to see them again. I had seen them when I first joined the TMF in 2001, and remember these quite well!
Please don't play forum police unless you have a badge
Pulling up old threads (often referred to as 'Necromancy') isn't against any of the TT rules but it is frowned upon in certain cases. These cases are when the:
- thread contains nothing of interest, relevance or use to the modern day. (eg, a personal section post from a girl that was made 3 years ago and clearly isn't an active member anymore. Or a thread that contains a dead link)
- member has posted something that doesn't really contribute to the thread or other members. (eg, posting a response saying 'lol')
They're frowned upon because they push newer threads down the list and so people may not get a chance to view them, which is unfair on the original poster.
As none of the above are true, bringing back this thread is fine. The pictures still work and and the posts that necro'd it are queries as opposed to just statements.
But please don't be harsh on other members who are just trying to help.
🙂
@Yumeshunketsu: Please remember that, if you believe the thread has been pointlessly necro'd, send a report by clicking the little triangle under the necromancing individual's name. The mod/admin team will investigate as soon as we see the report.
Cheers guys. :super_hap
