is there ever any of these gatherings near the La Crosse area? Never been to one but am interested and curious about what could really happen at one of these gatherings.
 
There have been gatherings in Wisconsin in the past. There's more in Chicago these days.

A gathering is a social event, held in a home, a club or a hotel suite, where folks of a similar interest socialize and, amongst the willing, play. Tickle one another, if consensual.

There's much conversation. Occasional back rubs and/or foot rubs, again if consensually. Etc.

FWIW, a munch is the social aspect without the play, held in a public place. Safe way to meet folks.
