I don’t know if this an issue many producers are concerned about. I’m assuming many do their shoots in places that are either perfectly soundproofed or devoid of neighbors. But maybe some others have to be more careful about ticklee noise?
My situation actually isn’t that bad. My apartment is quite reasonably soundproofed. Also, due to its position in relation to the outdoors and the rest of the units I only share one wall and one ceiling with neighbors. And I actually had a chance to talk to my next-door neighbors, and they’ve assured me that they never hear anything that bothers them.
The only unknown is the upstair neighbors. Aside from the occasionally running, jumping, stomping and high-pitched screaming of their kid (sounds about 3 years old) I basically never hear anything from above. No adult voices at all, among other things. But if I can hear their sometimes out-of-control child, how do I know they can’t hear the models when they get on the loud side? If they do, how annoying is it for them?
Now, I’ve never had any problems in the 6 years I’ve been living here, so you’d think I wouldn’t worry about it anymore. But in reality it’s quite the opposite. I’ve actually become more concerned about it over the years. When the models get loud and/or high-pitched I get very uneasy, and every sound I hear sounds like someone banging on my ceiling to me. I'm not entirely sure I haven't heard exactly that a few times in the past. Could be coincidence and entirely unrelated to my shoots, but I just don't know.
Now it’s bad enough that I’m somewhat apprehensive about doing shoots. I find myself hoping the models won’t be too verbal. I even find it hard to push the ticklees as far as I’d like, resulting in less intense action. It’s very inhibiting. I’d be very embarrassed if the neighbors actually did bang on their floor, or worse, knocked on my door or complained to the super or owner. It might not be that pleasant for the models either. It’s actually one of the several reasons why I’m seriously considering putting an end to my tickling shoot activities in a not-so-distant future.
So anyway, I curious to know if if any other producers have similar problems and/or fears.
