Are people usually less ticklish when depressed?

I was tickled the other day, but I happen to be a manic-depressive, and I got depressed and I noticed that, although I recognized the tickly feelings, I didn't laugh or even so much as twitch/sqiurm. Is this normal?

Maybe it depends? "Normal" is so, so subjective. As someone w/a similar past I find I might love/find it obscene depending on giver, but if I've not eaten in awhile (DMII) I might pass out on the spot. What meds are you taking? (I work for a hospital...)

it may be based more on the individual.....but for me it doesn't matter.

I thought they're just going too deep in themselves...
When I'm in bad mood - my sensations are exact the same, but emo-reaction stifled and noticeably slowed.

as for myself who does suffer from it. I havent noticed any change in my sensitivity i'm equaly ticklish depressed or not.

I would have to say no, based on my experiences.

A few years back I had one female friend with severe depression, bad enough to leave her hospitalized. Throughout the worst of those times, her feet were wildly ticklish, and she actually found that our sessions gave her a tremendous emotional boost.

Depression

I have suffered from depression for 13 years. I've never been tickled when I had a depression spell, so I don't know if I would be more ticklish. When I have a depression spell, I don't think about being tickled. It's an interesting question though.

well i had an awful day today and my cousin tried to tickle me and all i did was look at him.
