Glaswegians can't tell even a person from SE Michigan from a Canadian, I guess their stereotype American accent is someone fromeither California or else Texas and the Deep South; anyone North of there is from the Old Dominion- at least that was the case when I was over there in 1996, maybe they are more sophisticated now

Coincidentally I live in both those provinces! I go to University in New Brunswick and spend my summers at my home town in Toronto, Ontario. Also thanks for the pep there Sadi :stickout

Yoopers might get half credit, as their accent is pretty close to Canadian. Well, at least their Ontario or Manitoba rural counterparts. I don't think the mitten counts, though. Don't blame Brits for being ignorant. I don't know the different between someone from Birmingham or Manchester. Just too local.

Beautiful Canada

I will take this opportunity to congratulate all canadians for the great country they have. I left my native south america to come to Canada when I was seventeen. At the beginning I just wanted to learn english and work, but I fell in love with Montreal (yeah I learnt english in Montreal) and wanted to stay. Probably what surprised me the most was the politeness and the kindness of canadian people. Wanting to stay, I applied to a university and I even got a partial scholarship. Now I've been living here for more than two years and I'm doing great, the only thing I dislike is the winter; however, I figured out that the only thing that balances out the inclement weather of Canada, is the hotness of its women. That makes you canadians really lucky. Anyway, many people asked why I came to Canada in the fist place, since it's so cold and boring up here in the north. My answer was simple, you don't know what you have until it's gone. Love and appreciate that beautiful country!

Hearing stories like this really make me feel genuinely happy Poliuretano. It's hard moving to a new place as is but to know that we lived up to our name in hospitality, and the gracious compliments as well, you've touched my heart here. I hope you have great success and live life to it's fullest! 🙂
