"Weird" is a relative term, isn't it? Well, there are people out there that eroticise feces, eyeballs, murder, braces, hair, wristwatches, cannibalism, carcrashes, stabbing, and much more. In that perspective, you have to ask yourself: Is tickling really that weird?

I agree completely.

There are people who think having regular sex with the lights on is weird. Personally, I find those guys strange! :weird:

As long as we aren't in to just plain old sex someone will consider us weird. Most of us probably find other fetishes weird too. For example, lots of people on this board have foot fetishes as well, but there are also people who think foot fetsihes are weird and are strictly into UB tickling.

From a neutral standpoint I think that Howard Stern is doing a decent job of bringing the tickling fetish into the mainstream. TV doesn't tend to flatter foot fetishists however, mostly showing them as weirdos who take things to far like Quagmire on Family Guy and all those guys who show up in the news for randomly licking people's feet.

Come on...! A tickling fetish isn't that bad or embarrassing. I'm mean it's not like she found a picture of you and farm animal or came across your xtra large rubber diaper and baby bonnet.
I think some of us think this fetish is weirder than it really is. I mean you find it in every walk of life and in every culture in the world and I believe most people treat tickling as fun and playful ... We also think that way but we happen to think it's also sexy and arousing and like to take it a bit further.
In my opinion it would be easier to explain a tickling fetish since it's a common part of courtship and bonding among couples,.... than a foot fetish, which usually isn't a part of the body normally thought of as sexy. I've revealed to people how I feel about a tanned, slender, high arched well manicured female foot and they look at me like I just told them I get aroused by nose hair. Then again I've run across lots of people (male and female) that say "yea, some women do have pretty sexy feet".
Then depending on which sex I'm discussing it with, I tell the guys what sexy things women can do with those feet. (some have never heard of a foot job) or I tell the ladies how sensuous shrimping (a term for toe sucking I got from Modonna book "Sex" back in the 80's) and tickling can be. I also find that if you drop the names of mainstream people and celebrities like the Modonna reference or Stern's tickle chair and his omni present search for sexy feet, it's an easier sell that it's no big deal

I'd also add that:
I bet if you honestly poled 100 people about their deepest sexual fantasies you'ld get about 30% that get into light fetish like bondage, tickling or role play and another 10% that would make your hair turn white!!!

I think unusual would be a better term to describe those of us who have a tickling fetish. From the looks of this thread the majority of us even label ourselves as wierd and the vast majority of the rest of society does for sure. This website and others like it have shown me that there are a lot more of us who have a tickling fetish then I thought and that makes me feel much better. However, I wonder how many of us are open about our fetish outside the safe walls of this website and others like it? I know that society makes it hard for us to be open. For example you could be talking to the guys at work when a good looking girl walked by and if you said 'man she could eat crackers in bed and I'd even clean out the crumbs' or ' I'd like to get into her pants' none of the other guys would think twice about what you said but if you said 'I wonder if she has ticklish feet?' or 'I sure would love to find out how ticklish she is' most of your coworkers would consider you weird. Hell, in this crazy world we live in you have to be on your guard about almost everything you say so you don't get your ass in a bind and being open with a fetish like tickling is not an exception to the rule. It's too bad that's the way it is but unfortunately that's a sad fact of life that we all have to deal with. Maybe some day society will accept us for what we are without labeling us as weird but I dont think it will happen for a long time if it ever does.

Sure it's kind of weird, but so what. I think most people have at least one kink they're attracted to, the only question is whether or not they're honest with themselves about wanting it.

I don't see it as weird at all. Everyone has some kind of fetish, and everyone is entitled to have one. Tickling is a gorgeous sensual thing, and should not be scoffed at for being "weird."

I've never thought my tickling passions were at fetish level because I can enjoy sexual experiences with or without it. Would I rather have it as opposed to not? Sure, but I'm not stuck in a rut if I don't get it that way.

I spent the bulk of my lifetime repressing my love of tickling to the point I had convinced myself it didn't exist. But eventually I met someone who just blew off all the doors and my passions rushed out like trapped animals. Unfortunately, that was all he could do. But that relationship showed me one thing-I can no longer stuff my passions down-I want to explore them in a safe environment, which is where the internet comes in.

I'll never tell anyone in my vanilla world about my love of tickling. I'm already the one who is never comfortable conforming to societal norms as it is. And it's not like I didn't try either-I shoved religion down my throat and a good Christian wouldn't have the thoughts and passions in my heart and mind.
