So, I was all set up today to shoot *2* videos, and I have been trying to reach Model A all weekend to confirm, but phone calls and emails went un-answered. I called again just now and was told 'Oh yeah, I have to work today. I was going to call you LATER ON!

How about you call me when YOU FOUND OUT YOU HAD TO WORK? Instead of just ignoring my numerous attempts to contact YOU.

Model B was at least considerate enough to call me first things this morning to let me know she had a prior comittment that she forgot about and even offered to stop by later on this evening, and bring a friend with her, or if her friend could not make it, then we will still film 2 videos....one of me tickling her, and one of her tickling me,

Needless to say Model A will not be hearing from me in the future, as I think that's a pretty sorry attitude to have.

So everybody pray with me that everything will be as-is, with no more surprises
 
I can’t stand people who do not return phone calls. If there is an emergency or you are truly unavailable fine, but to ignore calls is down right rude. I mean what is the point of having a mobile if you don’t answer it???!!!

I think it is a wise move you not use Model A anymore…someone like that will find employment very difficult if she continues with that attitude. As for Model B…I can understand things slipping people’s minds but that is why God invented diaries. I suppose it’s a matter of priorities for people. :ranty:

From one business man to another I feel your pain…good luck with the next set of models.

So I'm dumb for trusting somebody to honor their comittment?

ETA: I never pay a model, until they arrive and sign the waiver/contract. I will never, not ever, pay in advance (that's just asking to get taken for a ride)
 
I don't think he was referring to you as the dumb one.

Payed models don't strike me as being on the upper end of the intelectual food chain.
 
This isnt your typical photoshoot. It requires a lot more than looking good in a selected outfit. Expect a lot of models to get cold feet.

Models flake out often, as do a lot of photographers. The joy of the internet is that arrangements can easily be ignored and forgotten about as soon as you turn your computer off.

Its not just happening to you, its happening to everyone. It will happen again, probably more often than not. However, as you go through the list of potential models, you'll realise which ones are genuine and which ones aren't, And a girl you've worked with recommending you to friends is about as good as you can get.

You'll get there eventually mate. Let the bad ones get away and bring the good ones back for more.

When Model B called me this morning, she was very apologetic and said she could not be here at the scheduled time. I then asked if she wanted to reschedule for this evening, and she said yes and would even see if her girl-friend would want to model as well.

So I took that as a sign that she really was interested. The way she carried herself makes me think she is 'for real' and not just some flake like Model A, who didn't even have the deceny to call me. I had to call her multiple times before she even answered the phone. And then for her to have the gall and say 'Oh, well I was going to call you later on'. Like later on today, tomorrow, next year? I mean wtf gives?

Oh well, I guess it's one of life's little lessons.

Bite me once shame on you, and I'll make sure you don't bite me again, because there will not be a next time. Like the old song goes 'I won't get fooled again'

My time is valuable, and can't wait by the phone/front door all day, just hoping a model will call or come at the appointed time.

Things happen and 'real life' happens and I understand that. And I do thank Model B for not keeping me in the dark. That was the classy thing to do.
 
Get used to it... you'll see a lot more of that if you do this for any length of time. Unfortunately... it happens a lot.

Plenty of no call/no shows over the years. Huge waste of my time.
 
I have always been semi-curious, where do you find these models in the first place? Are these people you just run into or did you find them through some on-line service?
 
Ok, so it looks like we're a go

I spoke to Model B just now, and she definately wants to do this (she said she'll be here this evening), but her friend is nervous and may just want to be a 'silent observer'

So from the looks of it, we'll be doing 2 vids today

Video 1 will me M/F

Video 2 will be F/M (or possibly FF/M if I'm lucky)

Damn.

The other ladies flaked out on me just now. So I was supposed to have 2 video shoots, and now I have none.

I guess its back to the drawing board

I heard that. If I had a dime for every time I've been stood up by a model over the past 6 months alone, I'd have enough money for at least a decent cup of coffee.
 
Evidently (from what Model B said...if it's even true) her husband found out where she was going, and wouldn't let her (at least that's what her last email told me)

Whoaaaa gentleman, gentleman, and fellow producers...lets not just give up on Model A like that. Was this Model A's first time doing a shoot? If so, then keep her on the back burner. You never know when you just might need her in the future when Model S, T, and U flake out. If its not her first time, then that gives you a very good plot to use, later on, that you can surely bring up once she is tied tight to whatever apparatus your using! "Oh so about that phone call you didnt give me back in June of 2008..."

If you have been following us over the years...there is space and time between videos where you may not see a girl for awhile...but then she pops up on the new A.N.A. Video...bla bla..

Some have lives, family, jobs, that (i will admit) I HATE sometimes when I NEED them to do a shoot.

I waited YEARS to get Sorebel tied to my bed. And YEARS I had to wait since she first shot "Latina Tickling" and "Latina Foot Fest". I lost contact with her and only had Cathy to talk to about her. All that time I found out she used to work right down the street from me, and I saw her all the time working in a salon and what a torture it was seeing her in sandals so much...then she wasnt there anymore...found out she had a baby. Then luckily one day, I went shopping (after my car accident) and ran into her with her sister...we got to talking and boom, we got to shoot again.

So, yes its a pisser, when they dont call or come, but dont count them out. Be lucky that we get them to even consider doing the work, compared to how many we see EVERY SINGLE DAY that we wish would line up to work for us. Ya feel where I'm coming from?

I feel ya, dude. But it just felt like I was being strung along by somebody who really had no intrest, other than trying to waste my time, and then totally blow me off, at the last second.

I mean, one phone call is not too much to ask for, rather than keeping me in the dark. I bet she wouldn't do that to her manager where she works, do you?

It was obvious that she wasn't going to return my calls, ya know? I left three voice mails over the weekend, and about as many emails. And then for her to just say 'Well, I was gonna call you later on'.

No I dont believe she would diss her manager. But you know how it is in this business. Thats why I have tried to juggle a few girls at a times, that way you can pick and choose who YOU want to work, than sitting with your camera batteries all charged and waiting and youve got no one coming in. And a good thing also about having a few to work with, you can then try and have Model A and B interact with Models C and D and it gives you more ideas to work with. (But not too many in one scene...thats just my preference. I hate some of these videos that have like 9 people tickling one girl. The camera man, the sound man, the victim, her friend, the friend of the sound man, the husband, and everyone has a tool to tickle with to get in on the action.)
 
Well, I do have another session set up with a model tomorrow, when I get home from work. I left her an email, asking her to call me tomorrow, just to let me know where everything stands.

If I don't hear from her by 3pm, I'll call her.

/hoping this one goes better than the other 2/

Ha. I hear ya.

I thought I was going to have an f/ff shoot lined up today - one of the lee's gramma got sick and she was unavailable. No problem, an f/f video is good.

Then the ler that I was talking to dropped off the face of the fucking planet, after saying "Seen your ad about the tickle video and I think i would be a great asset to your production! I love to torture people(in a fun way of course, well if thats what they want anyway)". So yeah, fed me a bunch of bullshit.

Oh well, someone else gets paid to laugh, heh.
 
Well, I'm 0-for-3. I had a session set up today at 8:30pm (even left work early to run by the bank, shower, and make sure the video equipment was set up.

At 8:36, she calls me to let me know she's on the way, but running late. Ok, no problem. At 9:06, she calls me to tell me she is lost. I knew where she was at, and gave her directions.

That was the last I heard from her, and tried calling her cell-phone, but there was no answer and left a voice-mail.

At 9:30, I called again and left another voice-mail.

I can only assume she just went back home, and didn't have the decency to at least let me know, instead of being kept in the dark.

So much for the quality models of Sexyjobs.com

Edited to add: I should never jump to conclusions. I just assumed she was trying to play mind-games and mess with me (as the other two ladies yesterday had done), and come to find out she really did get lost (very lost, but then again my place is kinda hard to locate) and her cell phone had died, hence why she couldn't return my calls.

She left me an email, just apologizing left and right. So hopefully we'll try this again tomorrow.

Just goes to show that one should never assume anything

Not all models are flaky. Personally I have NEVER flaked on a photographer but I have had several flake on me. Viper you and I both were disappointed about yesterday's shoot.

Don't give up on all models. A lot of times you have to sort through a lot of bad apples to find the good ones.
