What about the Canelli Renfaire pics and videos that are so popular (I know I love them)? Where do those fall on the creepy/not creepy spectrum?
Hm. Well, let's see.
Firstly, the whole stocks act was introduced to the Canelli renfaire by a fetishist who fed the organizers a line about it being "historically accurate", relying on their ignorance to approve it.
The act was filmed by said fetishist's accomplices, without the knowledge of the participants or the organizers, specifically for posting on fetish sites - the whole topic of this thread.
The clips were being
sold, again, without any kind of modeling paperwork, compensation, or even knowledge of the sales by the subjects (what Sole Mates was talking about back on page four - legally murky depending on jurisdiction).
So, creepy on a grand scale. Not that you won't find people lining up to defend him here 'till the heat death of the universe, though.
Although, I find it somewhat telling that when the organizers caught wind of what he was doing, they kicked him out of the renfaire.
I have to say that I have been here from the beginning
So have I. Who gives a shit? That doesn't have any relevance to this discussion.
and by that I mean before anything of this kind ever surfaced (1998) and reared it's ugly head.
It kinda reminds me of the "revolution" going on in the geek community, actually. Geeks were free to be all creepy and awkward all by their lonesome until conventions an' what-not started getting all diverse and women dared to actually show up to them. And when they did, they got royally freaked out by the nerds and their shitty social skills. Since nerds are always complaining that girls don't like them, said girls tried to explain to the nerds just why they couldn't find anyone to spend more than five minutes around them. And now, you have the same thing here. Women are coming here to participate and getting freaked out by the creepery (witness about four women on this thread NOT agreeing with the fap snappers) and getting told "fuck you, you can't stop me!".
"Hey, why aren't there more women in the tickling community?"
All I have to say is this: If someone took my picture and used it for ANY purpose...I would be FLATTERED ;-) Whether it be my feet, head, hands, legs, etc...by god. Why would I give a shit? Why would it be Creepy?
I never thought I'd say this, but... check your privilege. You're a man. The odds of anyone harassing, stalking, or trying to kill you simply because they think you're pretty are ridiculously low. Women, on the other hand... totally different story. Ladies? Back me up on this one?
I cannot believe I am even in a fetish forum anymore...this is crap to me. We are ALL here in a fetish forum and there has to be those who try to separate the good from the evil....what a mission.!!!
Ah yes, the old saw about the fact that by very virtue of having a fetish, we must all be creepy anyway, so any and all expressions of said fetish are A-Okay. Well, it's not true. There are healthy ways to express your fetish. Hiding in the restroom with a video camera is NOT IT. That's why we make the news.
I am not going to do it, but if someone were to break down the mathematics to it all you would see that maybe 5% (if that) of the forum total were on the side of this being wrong.
By my observation in this thread alone, I see one guy vehemently defending his right to creep, a bunch of people against, and some folks on the fence. Besides, just because everyone in this community thinks it's okay doesn't make it okay. It just means this community is full of creepy people.
Obviously, you see the same names defending this over and over again!!!
Hey, what can I say? Some of us are just too stupid to realize that you can't talk a sociopath into giving a shit about others.
Add it up...the only people complaining are the same ones over and over again.
...and that makes it wrong, how? Tell you what; if a mod, any mod, tells me to shut up, I'll shut up.
(PS - Rhiannon is from Europe, and if you Google a bit you'll find that it's illegal in the UK to distribute ANYONE'S photo without a release, even if it's just their hands. Apparently, the law is similar in Germany - so in her case, the law agrees with her.)
I am not a bad guy but this is ridiculous.
"I don't like it, make it stop!"
Yeah, sorry if the truth is inconvenient to you.
Take a picture of my feet and post it...big freaking deal. Geez....how horrible. Makes me want to leave...and I have been here since the beginning of the TK fetish.
Again, who gives a shit how long you've been here? Leave if you want. One less fap snapper in this community is not a bad thing, IMHO.
Oh, and I'll just leave this right here. One of many articles on the topic.

But whether it’s legal or not is beside the point – at least for the purposes of discussing it here. The issue with creepshots and it’s copycat subreddits isn’t finding women attractive or wanting to ogle them; it’s the fetishization of the non-consensual aspect of the interaction and everything that says about the attitude displayed towards the erstwhile subjects. Complaints about the subreddit’s existence or demands that photos be taken down are met with jeers and whining. How dare the Internet Moral Police come and try to ruin everybody’s innocent fun! You were out in public, you can’t complain when we decide to appreciate your body. You should feel flattered!
The message of /r/creepshots and it’s imitators and replacements is simple: “our desire to make you a sexual object for our pleasure is greater than your right to not be harassed, photographed or otherwise forced to take part in our sex lives.”
The message is “you don’t have the right to refuse to gratify our needs if we want it badly enough.” You will be their sexual object because they said you will and you don’t have the right to control access to your person.

Hey, I just learned something cool; apparently there's such a thing as the "Video Voyeur Act" that's been kicking around since 2004. Creep lightly, gentlemen!
