Soulfly I wasn't surprised when I looked at your profile and saw that you're college aged. Women that age can be VERY superficial. Guys that age also, and guys any other age for that matter LOL I'm 32 and I think just barely starting to grow up 😀

But anyway, at least most of the women grow out of it with maturity. Which is not to say that you have to go for women older than you, if thats not your thing. Ive also met young women who were very mature for their age. I am 5'8", 215 and I've been as heavy as 230. I'm 32 and my girlfriend is 23. Immature as all hell in most respects, but at least not in what she looks for in a guy. And in having a compassionate heart. 🙂

I know what that girl said to you (and I say GIRL because whatever her age she was not a woman) would've devestated me if I was in love with her. But hey, what if you were thin or muscular (or rich) or whatever kind of guy she likes, and she went for you. And you found out later what an immature little girl she is? At least you save yourself the trouble of being in a relationship with such a girl.

I'm glad your taking strides to improve your self esteem. It seems as though you have no confidence what so ever. People will tell you just love yourself and what not. But you can only accomplish that by doing what ever will make your proud of yourself. I have no idea what that might be but do it and build up your confidence and then things will be drastically different. FYI don't make the same mistakes lots of girls do, get to know someone first and then go on from there.

I have to agree with Steph. I know a lot of women that would disregard my thin frame for a more larger guy. It just has to do with perference. She could of handled it alot better but then again, I always check how a person treats others they dont like and that gives you an idea of how they would treat you.

Remember, everyone has a perference of what they consider attractive. You cant assume that you are always going to be the object of their desire. And it doesn't always have to be a bad thing. I think you losing weight is great but if you are only doing it to get more attention than you need to change the people you are around not your body.

I can't add much here except that you shouldn't this kind of thing affect your confidence and/or give you a nasty disposition and/or keep you from putting yourself "out there." That's giving her waaaay too much power. And NO ONE should have that much power over your personality, behavior, and life.

The temptation is to become "risk averse" after something gets to you like that, but you have to do just the opposite. Keep putting youself out there and soon you'll realize just how insignificant <i>anyone's</i> "rejection" (no matter how mild or strong) really is--especially after you're juggling two or three dates and trying to narrow down your options. And that it can happen easier and faster than you might think.

Incidents like these become laughably trivial in the rear view mirror.
