I bought Nero as my CD & DVD burner program and used the BackitUp function to back up some files. I had to do a compete reinstall of Win XP Pro on my PC. Whne I tried to restore the files, now none of them will reload from the restore function of Neros' BackItUp. Seems any backup program I use fails when needed.

Anyone ever use Nero with success?

Can anyone recommend a backup program that really works???????

I don't use backup utilities at all. I just copy my program installers and personal files to CD regularly, using the built-in Windows XP CD Wizard, then copy those back to my hard drive if necessary.

Norton Ghost. Buy a second hard drive which is at least as large as your C: drive, then use to Ghost to make an exact clone. If your C: drive fails or your computer crashes, simply swap the drives and your back up. Works Great!

Ok...thanks!

I will check out both suggestions...

Thats a great idea, luckycat. I really like the idea of cloning my hard drive bt I'd like the second to be removable or external so in case of a power surge or other catastrophy it doesn't get fried along with the primary. Is this possible using your method?
