An American was knocked unconscious in a serious accident while
travelling in Australia. The ambulance took him to a local hospital
for treatment.

While he finally woke up he asked the nurse, "Was I brought here to
die?"

"No," said the nurse. "You were brought here yesterday."

Well, I don't think it does when I say it.
But there are different types of Australian accents, just like there are different American accents.

It's still an awful joke, though. 😉

The only person I know who is from New Zealand (and I will conceal her name to protect the guilty) tells this joke quite often:

The dumbest man in New Zealand recently emigrated to Australia.

Thus he raised the average intelligence in both countries.

New Zealand can joke all they want. They'll be laughing out the other side of their faces when we invade 😀 C'mon, they haven't got an airforce anymore, their navy takes up 2 moorings at the local boat club and their army is the same size as my extended family.
