Bad cold!

Since yesterday, I have had the world's worst cold, and I feel miserable. Stuffy head, sneezing, headache, slight sore throat. It's bad. What makes it worse is that I cant go to the Doctor, because Iam allergic to every conceivable antibiotic. This is the first cold I've had since June 2003, so I guess Iam a pretty healthy person. Iam a bit concerned that my mom might pick it up, because the last time I had one, she caught it, and ended up at Lancaster General Hosptial, which is where they diagnosed her emphasema. Iam a very allergic person, Lancaster has a lot of leaves and trees, and I strongly suspect that the allergants had something to do with my cold. I often get sick in the fall, for my whole life, so this is nothing new. I just hope I get rid of it by Thanksgiving, because right now, I feel like my head is four sizes bigger with the world's worst headache, and Iam sneezing to beat the band. I also have a ton of work to do before Black Friday to get things online for my business, and I can hardly keep my head up. I know some forum members have complained of colds lately, such as Mimi, and it is the worst.
So, I hope I get rid of this by Thursday. I have been resting in bed and drinking a lot, which is all you really can do until this thing runs its course.

I feel for ya Mookers. I suffered with severe cold symptoms for over a month straight before finally getting some relief. Now I'm starting to get a few symptoms back again. BLECH!

The strain of viruses going around this season are absolute HELL. They are stronger, longer, and more concentrated than any virus strain I've seen circulated before. If you get struck with it, you'll know it. Total misery for weeks on end.

I'm rooting for ya, Mookers. Hope it passes through you much quicker than it did me! Keep up on those fluids, and get LOTS of vitamin C!

wow that sucks Mitchell, get well soon. i have a cold too but mine is slightly different...there isn't any sneezing just sinus junk and i keep running hot and cold

I hope you feel better soon giggley, and thank you Mimis, yes I know you've been fighting symptoms for a while yourself. I hope you can get rid of them.
A weird thing has happened since I've been here in Lancaster. I used to be the citrus juice king, drinking orange, apple or grapefruit juice every day. Now, for some reason, for the last couple of years, I cant drink any juice. It upsets my stomach badly and the doctor cant figure out why. I now drink clear soda, like 7UP, water, or hot tea in the morning, which is exactly what I've been using to get rid of this, cups and cups of piping hot tea, and soup. I'm just going to rest it out until I get rid of it, and let it take its course.
Again, thanks for the good wishes, and feel better soon, giggley and Mimis. Hopefully we will all be better in time for the holiday on Thursday.

Awwwwww Mitch my brother, i'm sorry you're not feeling well. I can SO relate, i'm going on 3 weeks with this rotten cold which has me so run down that i can barely function. Take care my dear friend and have a great Thanksgiving! (sorry bro i couldnt find any turkey icons.)😀

So sorry to hear about your cold!
With re: the juice issue~you may want to ask your doc to test you for ulcers~lots of those juices are VERY high acidity, which will only aggravate the condition. In many cases, ulcers are brought on and/or aggravated by stress, something I know you sometimes struggle with. They tend to affect people who often "internalize" their feelings instead of venting them.

Hope this helps a little and you're better soon, otherwise I'll have to fly on out there and let ya watch me stand on a ladder for a year or two!

Being that you live in Lancaster I can say this,
there is one NASTY bug going around the Delaware, South Pennsylvania and South Jersey.

You seem to have caught it, we had 5 people out with EXACTLY what you have described and I think I had it 2 weeks ago

Tommy, thank you. Yes, it does sound like there is something going around. I've been hearing it from many, even on the forums. While I admit that perhaps Iam not feeling quite as sick as yesterday, I still have this blasted nose cold that is driving me beserk! My guess it that it will take until the end of the week to go away. I dont usually lose these things very fast.
