'Barefoot' Wines

So a couple Saturdays ago I was passing through the beer/wine aisle in my local supermarket, when my eye spotted a California Merlot with the name 'Barefoot'. Being a foot guy I just had to take a bottle home to try it. Now I'm no wine expert, but I thought it was slightly sweeter that Merlots I've had in the past. Excellent fragrance!

When I checked out the Barefoot Cellars website, I learned that in addition to Merlot, Barefoot wines are available in Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Zinfandel, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and White Zinfandel. www.barefootwine.com

Barefoot Cellars is based in Modesto, CA, very close to Sacramento. Hmmm, I wonder how they process the grapes exactly?

Actually Golas I've met you... and I like you as a person.

But Barefoot is NOT the greatest of wines. I'm no wine expert but Merlot should really never be sweet.

Although the label is cute as hell and I'd adore me a Barefoot tee shirt one of the these days. Ticklish_Chgo (or however he spells it) had one at NEST last year and I love the logo!

I'd just never seen this brand of wines before. It wasn't SWEET sweet. I'm just saying I thought it was sweeter than Merlots I've tried to date. OK by me.

Yeah I did buy it for the label. The website didn't seem to have any t-shirts, etc. for sale but it's a great idea. I'd wear one.

brand of the stuff. Ick. But as a marketing gimmick, they've gotten the attention of at least ONE group, that's for sure!

Anybody remember Boone's Farm "Tickle Pink" wine?
