Gawd, PLEASE tell me I am not the only one totally marking out after tonights episode of RAW? You KNOW they are doing something right when they can get those of us who know and understand the backstage politics and realities of wrestling in all it's sketched glory to mark out. I don't want to say anymore, because I do not want to spoil anything for anyone who has not seen it yet, but DAMN I am loving this turn of events! WAY TO GO BIG GUY! Thanks for putting some fire back under my seat again! I've MISSED it!

Mimi 😀

i was expecting that to happen all along (hindsight bias), as rumors pointed it out anyway, but glory be that the rumors were right

i also like the poetic justice of an ending

oh wait wrestling aint real homphwph!f!!!11111one

Ya know, it's funny. A while back I was saying they should can him because he seemed clumsy and was going nowhere. It's nice to see him mature and the writers get their collective heads out of their tails to give him a chance to show his true abilities.

I had a feeling what took place last night would happen. But, I half expected them to drag it out a bit further. A well done series of events at long last. As with mimi, I enjoyed it more last night than I have in a long time. (I was sitting there working on site material as we started watching and ended up not getting much done because the show actually held my interest. Nice switch!) I may have to watch parts again.

Great To Hear!!!!!

Wow! Didnt know Mimi and Ann were wrestling fans, good for you! That whole Batista going to Smackdown thing was just to create interest I guess and it worked! The bad news is I read a wrestling site and they said Triple H and his fat wife are the bookers on Raw (Which is why I like Smackdown better!) and Triple H was a true professional at Wrestlemania last year and let Chris Benoit win the title which was a great choice but I dont think Triple H is gonna lose 2 Wrestlemania main events in a row...sorry Batista. I hope im wrong.

Why would you call Stephanie "fat"?? Ya blind?

this is just great...things seem to be turning around. This much emotion hasn't been involed in a long, long time. great stuff! GO BATISTA.

Agreed. Batista seems to be getting as much of a pop when he comes out as Austin and the Rock used to. I don't know if it's all him or partly the fact that people want to see Triple H destroyed. But, it is indeed nice to see.

Oh, and AFA Steph being fat... That's a matter of opinion. She is heavier than she used to be. But, as of last time I saw her on TV, she wasn't THAT big. Perhaps EE is a good little boy who likes string beans? 😉

Ann

Rich, Powerful and FAT!!!!!

I saw a recent photo of Stephanie standing next to Triple H and I honestly thought the young lady was pregnant...im not exaggerating. As a matter of fact ol Hunter Hearst Helmsleys waistline is a bit puffed out compared his physique in 2000. And no I dont like string beans Ann, Christy is my main girl followed by Victoria. Stacy Keibler is a string bean and her and her famous toothpick legs never appealed to me at all.🙄

speaking of steph

While watching RAW last night for the first time (since i haven't watched it in over a few long weeks)

I was watching some business type show on cnbc. and the talk show host had on Triple H and stephanie mcmahon and they we're both talking about the script writers on the show and just basically about the in sights and outs of the wwe and how everything works. and they both seemed like nice people i had to admit. because you know how some sports stars and big time figueres don't seem nice at all weather there on and off. but both of them do they seem like real smart and very kind people. and also this was a shock to me (since i haven't watched the wwe in a long time till last night in fact) Triple H said that him and stephanie mcmahon are Actually really married husband and wife in real life it's not just some fake or put on act by the wwe. which i thought was pretty damn cool. 🙂

Big mistake laying his hands on Triple H, the Game. It was better being on his side than against him. While Bastista did the right thing, he's going to pay for it later, and if he ever does get the belt away from HHH, he's going to be screwed out of it later, like everyone else has.

The Game is the Game for a reason, and he'll do anything to get that belt back. I predict miserable times for the gorilla, Batista.

Unless the script tells Hunter to lay off (assuming he loses the belt at Wrestlemania), he's not going to. He's the perfect heel, and maybe it should stay that way. For him to suddenly become disinterested in the title hunt or get into feuds he doesn't need to (other than those to bump someone else which he's never personally been stingy about) makes no sense at all. It clashes with his character.

Expect Batista to win at WrestleMania, and see if he can run with the ball given him. Don't get me wrong, I love HHH, but to see him go thru a table, was great. Its not that often he gets annihilated, but it was great none the less😀

He's still breathing, thats Bastista's problem.

Unless Batista is capable of doing what the likes of Lesnar did to Hogan, I don't think he'll be effective at maintaining a belt with authority and theres no way Triple H would back off from someone he knows so well, both strengths and weaknesses.

No one can really "destroy" Triple H, they can just show him up, but he always bounces back somehow, and thats what makes him a wonder in his own right.

yeah, Celtic, you're right, but this Batista is a beast, and he will give HHH a million more problems than Goldberg ever could.

The scarier part is, Batista hasn't even scratched the surface on how good he could be, and there is no one in the company more powerful than this man😀

and as far as "destroying" HHH goes, well, people thought the same thing about Hogan.....😀

Hogan was no longer viable when Lesnar butchered him in that one match that they had to stop because Hogan was bleeding internally supposedly and coughing up blood.

Triple H is still marketable and will be for years to come. He's proven he can relate to any role given to him, but he's best suited as a heel. And its something he does well. So well that it could be argued he's the one that carries the contempt for heels all over in the business, aside from maybe JBL.

But Triple H isn't like JBL, but alot of people make bland comparisons. Triple H is a tactition with technical wrestling skills that can bring it to anyone when he really needs to. We've all seen him do things we didn't expect he'd do or that he could do. He's got this charm and this luck (not including the cheating) that sees him through to greatness.

The fact he's the champion going into Wrestlemania is proof of that. Whether he leaves the champion or not is almost trivial, because no one expects him to, and the plot is most likely working against him.

He's one whose goodness goes full circle however. I'm sure he'd be happy to give Batista a push, as he has for many others. He's allowed himself to be a stepping stone for up-and-comers, and that takes humility.

And despite the role he plays, he is a humble fellow who knows how to follow direction.

I just don't expect the Triple H we know to let this slide however. It wouldn't be Triple H if he didn't make Batista miserable if he loses the belt.

Even without Ric Flair, Triple H is a great threat, and history has showed us that Triple H is most dangerous and capable, and unpredictable when he's desperate. Much like what he did to sow confusion in both branches of the business recently.

He's an insidious threat to everyone there, and unless someone can really beat the shit out of him, so to speak (ie- the Lesnar/Hogan example), he'll keep bouncing back.

If he can go toe to toe with Taker, he can do it with Batista, especially considering how well he knows the guy and his weaknesses. Triple H may not even have to have help from Flair to get the job done at Wrestlemania. But if he doesn't, I fully expect him to be back in the running immediately after, to get his "precious" back. 😀

Very valid points, Celtic

although I do believe HHH is better without the belt than he is with. WWE have a lot of stars, who given the chance, can do well with the title, and shouldn't let one man dominate the time with it.

I do believe however, this war between the two will last for a while, and it will be good TV for everyone

And you also bring up a good point yourself. Also, some champions tend to ride along on their championship feeling they don't have to perform as much simply because they're on the top. Triple H has fallen into this category, especially with the creation of Evolution, where he has had others to do the work for him.

So I agree there are instances where one would be better off without the belt, simply because theres a need for them to perform to prove themselves in the running for that belt.

I think, for some, Triple H may seem like a guy that cannot wrestle well, when thats not the case at all. He's sharp, and on his game (pun intended) all the time, we just don't see it and he appears lazy or sloppy to some because of his state, in being the champion.

I think it would do Triple H some good to win back some credibility as a top wrestler if he actually had to compete and display his skills again.

Part of this includes a start with a worthy performance at Wrestlemania. I fully expect Triple H to give Batista everything he has. Afterall, its his championship, he should want to defend it as best he can. And if we get a great performance out of him, I'm sure more people wouldn't mind him wanting a re-match or to face the champion later. He's probably have more fans as a result too.

Either way, I expect a worthy performance out of them both, and I'm sure they'll deliver. 🙂

another thing to remember is if HHH's schedule outside of Raw is too large then that does give batista a good chance with the belt and keeping it at least a couple of months ( i had heard rumors of another movie with HHH and that production starts in march or april..if it's to be believed there may be a couple of months out of the year that he doesn't hold the belt...which would be nice)

As much as I like Triple H, I haven't seen any of the movies he's stared in, which I'm guessing is just Blade Trinity right now, right?

Right

Triple H Married Stephanie to Gain Power

Triple H wrestled one to many Hell in the Cell matches. His physique isnt what he used to be and his wrestling skills sure arent. However isnt it every year that the winner of the Royal Rumble goes on to win the title at Wrestlemania? Isnt that predictable? Now remember John Cena is going to win the WWE championship, everyone knows that so do you really think EVERY face is gonna win? Triple H is terrified of Batista...you can see it in his face and his mannerisms when talking to saggy tits Flair about him. I just dont think Triple H is gonna lose 2 Wrestlemania main events in a row, hes too powerful backstage and egotistical. Maybe Summerslam Batista.🙁

They've gotta give the title to Batista at WM. If they don't, they will have gone through these past two months of buildup for nothing, and they'll destroy any believable monster image they've created for Batista. It would be Randy Orton all over again. They CAN'T screw up that bad twice in one year.

Well, yes they can, and HAVE, but I for one am crossing my fingers that they learned from their mistakes.

Mimi

I just wish they would have found a better way to cap off the build-up than having Triple H, the "Cerebral Assassin," decide for some reason to explain his plan in front of a cameraman on national TV. The rest of the angle was more well-written and subtle than usual, so it's disappointing they took the lazy way out.

And I don't see anything wrong with Mania being mostly face wins. It's supposed to be the big blow-off show, the end of WWE's "season."

That said, there have been a lot of times in the past where it made plot sense for Trips to lose ... and he didn't. (Against Booker T at Wrestlemania a couple years back, for instance.) Never underestimate a wrestler who's also on the writing staff and married to the boss's daughter...
