EE, Batista does not get as big of a pop as Austin or the Rock used too. He is close to it, believe me, but just not yet... Speaking of ovations, Triple H holds the biggest one that I have ever heard...

Nobody here hates JBL personally, bro... We think his character sucks ass and he is not deserving enough to hold the belt for this long when others who are more deserving have shit.

Things JBL has in common with Stan Hansen:

1) They're both from Texas.
2) They both use stiff clotheslines.
3) Nothing whatsoever otherwise.

That said, I actually enjoy JBL; if nothing else, it's fun to watch him go so eagerly for the cheapest of cheap heat. He doesn't have the skills to do more than brawl for a few minutes at a stretch, though.

And frankly, who else on Smackdown were they gonna put the title on? Cena wasn't ready last year (and may still not be ready, but that's a whole other can of worms). Big Show's championship runs have been boring and unmemorable. Angle's got constant injury issues. RVD stopped giving a crap long ago. Vince doesn't seem interested in pushing Eddie any further. And if you put the belt on the Undertaker, you'll have to book him in a 10-on-1 match to get it off him again.

So JBL works for me as a device to transition the belt onto a rising star.

Actually Shem Vince LOVES Eddie Guerrero because Eddie cleaned up his life (good for him!),hes a great wrestler and he takes responsibility for his actions. Eddie used to come out to a huge pop and made Smackdown #1 show with the Latino American viewers. However keeping that in mind JBL might not be able to walk on the ropes but when he takes the mike everyone listens. As for cheap pops JBL doesnt do that im sorry but HHH sure does. HHH has 20 minute ramblngs in the ring about how good he is and repeats "I am the Game" about 100 times. Im sorry guys but you should appreciate Bradshaw because he takes some wicked bumps (see last sundays barbed wire cage match) and hes the one of the greatest heel champs of all times. HHH married the bosses daughter for his push, JBL used his ability on the mike and in the ring. Oh and Shem here are the similarites between Layfield and Stan Hansen:
1. Both are from Texas
2. Both use a version of the Lariat
3.Both wrestle the exact same style
4. Both do crazy things in their in ring interviews and promos (JBL got fired from CNN for insulting Germans by calling them puppets and making the Nazi salute and marching around the studio...thats a guy who speaks his mind.)
5. Both are tough as hell (admit it guys JBL is tough)
6. I didnt make this connection Jim Ross did and he knows a bit about wrestling wouldnt you say?

Remember guys HHH fucked Chyna and made the man-beast the IC champ so he damaged wrestling no matter what you say. JBL is the most hated villian since Freddie Blassie and once again thats exactly what Vince whats and THAT my friends is why JBL has been champion for 8 months. You guys are certainly entitled to your opinions but give the guy some credit he bleeds for you, gets chokeslammed from the top of a cage for you and puts on a great show for you. Hes doing something right or he wouldnt have been WWE champ for this long folks. And Shem other heels or faces that could have champ, Eddie Guerrero (brought big ratings for Smackdown),Kurt Angle,Rob Van Dam,Booker T (would bring big ratings from African American viewers),Charlie Haas (dont scoff hes an incredible wrestler!),Renee Dupree(great mike skills can wrestle his ass off plus he has Fifi!) or you could bring someone over from Heat or Raw who aint doing anything like Rhyno,Gene Snitsky,Christian,Randy Orton,etc. Dont worry guys JBL wont be champ for much longer cuz Cena is already booked to beat him at Wrestlemania so its just another month just give the guy SOME credit!

Hmmm...

Bradshaw (the better incarnation of this guys wrestling career) is not a great heel in my opinion. I dont "hate" him because of his heel actions (the goose step, by the way wasnt him "speaking his mind"; it was his way of generating cheap heat when he couldnt get a response from the crowd). He just isnt that great a wrestler anymore period. He is a victim of the fact that he is on the show with the worst heayweights wrstlers (and a retiring Kurt Angle). He wouldnt even be allowed to think about wrestling the champ on RAW; he would be wrestling Snitksy every Monday night. He cant maintain a program with alot of the guys mentioned in the previous post (program being more than one match) because quite frankly, he isnt in that type of shape anymore, and Rob Van Dam would outshine him by just walking out to his music. That is why the Big Show gets so many title shots; he cant outshine anyone.

That being said, I do agree with something ElectricEye said: if belts are given out for effort and not skill, then JBL deserves the belt then. Because he has done everythng he can with that character to produce any type of heat he can and at the same time try to make his opponents look good. Unfortunately, forced heat (like the goose step, or making women have miscarriages, or having sex with corpses) doesnt impress me at all. I got the bald head and goatee...I way about 240...maybe I can go to Smackdown and beat up crippled people on the air. Then I would get more heat than JBL gets with his racist remarks and obviously borrowed from Ric Flair statements about his wealth (my favorite wrestler of all time. I got about 5 comp tapes of Ric Flair matches and interviews....it is amazing just how much everyone borrows from him. And his heat was legit.).

Many guys take "wicked bumpbs", that powerbomb HHH took from Batista threw the table was one of the hardest powerbombs I have seen. One of the greatest heel champs of all time? Not even in my top 10...

Well guys ill guess well have to agree to disagree so to speak because I think most of what were debating are matters of opinion anyway except one thing...if it wasnt for HHH Chyna the man would NEVER have been IC champ thus devaluing that belt beyond repair. I love JBL and I know im in the minority but hell its pro-wrestling were all supposed to argue to have fun about whose best right? As for Dajerx I am interested in 2 things you said:
1. Kurt Angle retiring
2. Compilation tape of Ric Flairs greatest matches

I had no idea that Kurt was retiring, can you say a bit more please. And on your Ric Flair tapes do you have the "Music City Massacre" between Ric Flair and Terry Funk in an I Quit match? If you do can we trade or something I love vintage NWA tapes. I read anexcerpt from a recent interview saying that he is retiring after his match with Shawn Michaels at WrestleMania (it hasnt been announced yet, but they are obviously working towards it).

I would have to look; if it isnt on my tapes (I got some old stuff...him tagging with Mulligan against Andre the Giant and Ken Patera, old matches against Snuka and Steamboat, etc), I think it is in the DVD collection...I have that too. I saw them wrestle in an I Quit match in Richmond.

Smackdown Sucks As Of 2/24 Im Convinced!!!!

I must admit I watch Smackdown and was bored to tears! I didnt even stick around for the predictable main event. Who in their right mind thought Mark Jindrak was gonna beat the Undertaker? I mean are matches like that necessary? Oh but he and Luther were fighting after the match which generated NO INTEREST WHATSOEVER!!! I say bring back the Honkytonk Man! Hes the greatest Intercontinental champion of all times and he was the complete entertainment package. He could sing,dance,wrestle,the whole 9 yards! Oh and its high time they bring back the midget division so Rey Mysterio can do the ultra exciting 619 (Yawn!) on the likes of the Haiti Kid! Smackdown is like Raw Lite and that dreadful Kurt Angle invitational...What the fuck is that supposed to prove???? And Teddy Long is doing a good job? RRRRIGHT!!! One last thing,exactly what is Carlito Carribeian Cools injury cuz hes had his arm in a sling for 6 months!!!! Smackdown sucks balls!!!

Carlito got "hurt" when he and John Cena were going at it about 4 months ago i guess it was...he did have a legitimate injury from what i read but at the moment i think they are milking it so that they can build him up abit more because the fans were ticked that Carlito got the belt in his 1st showing on SD.(i can't watch Raw 🙁 , i don't get cable/sattelite YET...but i do watch SD or try to every week)
