How many folks out there enjoy endulging in a fine beverage every now and again?Choosing a beer really gives meaning to the term 'pick your poison'.My beers of choice are Heineken,Bud Light,Corona, and cant forget Olde E for all the gangstas out there. What are some of everybodys favorite beers? :happyfloa

Miller Genuine Draught since I can't find a good old fashioned Stroh's.

Only wimps drink lager or pilsner!

It ain't REAL beer unless you have to chew it before you swallow!

I like Mackeson Stout. Now THAT's beer.

A good, dark Porter is okay too.

Fine Mitch. If I ever get to where you are I'll just get liquored up on gin unless they have Lowenbrau Dark.🙄

I'm very fond of Dutch and German beer. I only drink bottled stuff now because it just tastes better (especially when you compare to Bud or Heineken etc). I've also got a soft spot for Monty Python's Holy Ale. It's damned tasty, but hard to find in places.

oh no, not beer snobbery...

When I was in college, the only thing my friends and I could afford was cheap beer. But eventually we graduated and graduated to better beer. Beer from Belgium is the best I've ever had. It's hard to look at __________ (insert cheap American brand here) again once you've had it. So if you're interested in really good beer (and willing to pay for it), I would suggest trying one of the following:

Chimay Blue (but any Chimay will do)
Corsendonk
Hoegardden (don't know if I spelled that correctly- throw in extra consonants at your leisure)

The first two are dark, heavy ales. They are so good! The third is the polar opposite- extremely light. None of them are cheap. I know everyone's tastes are different, so feel free to take the above with a huge grain of salt, or even some salted pretzels (to go with your beer).

Oh, I forgot Chimay! All of them are sooooo gooood! 😀
Thanks, Irish. I'm curious as to which Dutch and German beers you prefer. As for Dutch Beer, the only ones I think I ever had were Heineken and Grolsch.

There is a beer from El Salvador called Rialto that is quite good, they sell it at trader joes.

Cheers!

Living near Canada , I've really fallen in love w/LaBatt Blue. I'll also drink a Molson's & a Corona every once in a while.

no matter what beer you drink....i can only tolerate it ice cold..drunk fairly fast..and with m&m's...

I love a nice english bitter for example Bishops finger or Spitfire and then we got fullers london pride or ESB. And they are best served when room temperatured.

That's my man!

I very rarely drink macro-brews (Coors, Budd, Miller, etc). I think they taste like piss water. Living in the North East now, I occasionally enjoy Yuengling because you can get it by the bucket and it's cheap.

But my preference? I like beers that look like motor oil. Chocolate stouts are my babies (Rogue's chocolate stout is indeed my favorite). Porters come next. If it feels like you've eaten a full loaf of bread after you've drank a glass, then it's a good beer.

I believe it's "Hoegaarden" my friend. And this is my other favorite, which is completely different as it is so citrusy and light. 😀 Little expensive but definitely worth it.

Damn. I need to go to the liquor store today.

I usually stick with Canadian (Molson's, Moosehead) or German beers (Spaten and Hacker-Pschorr are a couple of favorites).

Right ON, Vae!

Hey, did you read what Isabeau wrote? I'll bet if she tried a great chocolate stout, she wouldn't need to eat M & M's with her beer!

The only US made beer that's a contender is Gravity, a very HEAVY beer made by the same people who brew Iron City, Steel, and Steel Reserve. It's heavy stuff!
