Being mean on purpose in threads

Hi folks,

Frequently I've observed posters making negative comments for no good reason, other than trying to be funny. Now, God knows I'm all for decent humor in threads, but why be insulting regarding topics that don't interest you? Why even be part of that thread? That attitude makes the thread-starter feel bad for posting in the first place, and I hope that's not a goal of people here.

I am NOT a huggy-feely-cumbayah kinda chick, but I try to respect other's interests and hope they'll respect mine, y'know?

If you have difficulties with a posters behavior, report it to the moderation staff, and tell us why you think it's an issue. There is a 'report a post' link at the bottom of every thread.

I really don't feel that the posts I'm describing were bad enough to be reported-you guys do a wonderful job catching those (thank you btw). I'm referring to the type of post that's more exasperating than nasty; cracking wise when someone's trying to be serious, or needlessly insulting something that the thread starter obviously likes or cares about. Or when you just HAVE to find some obscure way to put tickling in a thread that has nothing to do with tickling. (yeah yeah, I *know* it's a tickling forum, but this is the general discussion area for a reason-take a cold shower for cryin' out loud )

I know that when you put your thoughts on an open forum, you open yourself to such responses. I'm just asking folks to be more respectful of one another. I have faith that they will.

I will keep a carefull eye out for posts of the type you describe, there is always one or two who spoil it for the majority. 🙄

I agree, Bella, that if a thread is about a topic I'm not interested in, I should butt out, or at least not make any negative comments about it. I try to be positive, but a few of my posts may have been of the nature you describe. In the future, I will be more aware of the content of my posts. Peace! 🙂

i just recently had something like that in the story section. i agree with you people. i think everyone needs to watch what they write because someone could take it the wrong way....
