being sick SUCKS

ugh yeah it does. ive been sick since thursday. my head pounds, my throat aches and my nose is constantly runny and then its stuffy then back to runny and it hurts when i cough, and my throat gets all raspy. ughhh make it go away 🙁

Yeah, sometimes the summer colds/flu can be the worst. Same drill though, plenty of rest and lots of fluids. Hope you feel better real soon!

I sooooooooo feel your pain! I got an ear infection from my hearing aid and it moved to my chest! It hurts to cough! Heck, it hurts to blink! I'm coughing up green mess that YUCK I don't even want to get into it. The doctor said this is the time of year most people get sick! It sucks! And the runny then stuffy nose thing.... I'm so with you on that! Damn nose doesn't know what it wants to do! My glands are so swollen I cant swallow and the dumb doctor gives me antibiotic in PILL form! I'm like DUHHHHHH I cant swallow!!!!!!!! Being sick is crap!

glad someone knows what im going through! lol. my coughing has gotten worse and now im losing my voice. i think im going to make myself some noodle soup and lay down. i hope you get better soon!!

Oh i feel your pain! the more ya cough the less you can talk lol! This sucks! noodle soup sounds yummy! I might have to throw on the pouty face and get my BF to go buy me some from the Kosher Deli!!!! MMMMMMMM Matza ball soupy!!!! Hope your feeling better soon! Poor baby!!!

Here's my best advice;

For the nasal problems, you seem to need both an antihistamine and a decongestant.
I reccommend;
Antihistamine-generic chlorpheneramine maleate, available in house brand at most major drug store chains. Should be available in 4,8 and 12 hour dosages.
Induces drowsiness.
Decongestant-generic pseudoephedrine, available in house brand at most major drug store chains. Should be available in 4,8 and 12 hour dosages. The house brands all seem to be called Su-fedrine or some variant thereof.
COUNTERACTS THE DROWSINESS INDUCED BY THE ANTIHISTASMINE!

For the sore throat, I thing the best bet is Sucrets lozenges. The drying up of the stuffy/runny cycle should relieve the cough as well.

For the headache, I reccomend generic Alleve, called Naproxyn Sodium. One lasts for twelve hours and equals the pain relief of two aspirins. Taking an aspirin with the Naproxyn Sodium multiplies the pain relief effect by about 4X because they potentiate. The multiplier effect of the aspirin will only last 4 hours unless you take an 8 or 12 hour timed release aspirin.

I hear ya.Had a sinus infection,got some meds,and now it's back.Back to the doc. tomorrow.
