Here's an odd theory.....does anyone think being tickled will help you lose weight? All the thrashing around and laughing has to burn calories. All that laughing has to give your stomach a workout. I think this may be a new trend in the diet/excercise industry!

(if any ladies want to try to lose those last few pounds, i'd be happy to be your personal trainer. lol)
 
Well...

I had a visit from a 'ler once last fall.

He was very enthusiastic about his 'lerness and I was tied and tickled for quite a long time.

The next day I stepped on the scale and found I had lost 3 pounds.

I can't think of a better way to lose weight.

And to the 'ler... and you know who you are... I wouldn't mind a repeat performance sometime soon... maybe we can go for 5 pounds. :xpulcy::3poke::xpulcy:

I definitely think it helps - a few years ago one of our radio station dj's proclaimed that it was 'National Tickling Week'. My husband took that literally and he was merciless all week, tickling me at every oppotunity! (I got a good few tickles on him too!!) That week I lost 4 lbs, so it must work!! Hmm I could do to lose some more.....

Nerd. Unless you're doing non-stop hour long sessions everyday, I don't think there would be much noticeable weight loss. That's just me.
 
i know all that laughing and thrashing about increases blood flow...maybe tickling as a cardio work-out?

Well... let's see... it was 5 hours non-stop... and we even wondered later if it wasn't so gosh darned late... if we could have done a few more hours... but alas, he had a long drive ahead of him back to his place and we weren't able to test the theory... *sigh*

I think it lasted so long not only because we were both enjoying it but because we were waiting for the other to get tired and call it a day.

Always the complete gentleman... but one hell of a 'ler... sure knew his way around feet... :bowing: I need to give him a call one of these days 😉

And you're dead on about the ab work out, mine were sore for days. And yes... it was a wondeful way to lose weight. Sure wish that 'ler lived closer... I'd make him my personal trainer. I could use a good work out a few times a week.
 
Its called tickleaerobics. it has great cardiovascular benefits. :veryhappy

o brother...i would think you would have to be tickled on a fairly regular basis for any real effective weight loss..i was also tickled last year for hours..and i can see that it would help with losing weight..the thrashing around..the constant laughing and struggling...it would be a nice way if you needed to lose those extra pounds..

poor me though...i don't get tickled so i have to rely on my hula hoop..which btw does wonders...
 
I absolutely believe it could. I would imagine that hour a day would be no different than some that go to the gym every day to do their routines. Granted though, an hour a day would be tough at first because you would be so sore. Like anything else though, you would be conditioned after awhile. I would love to participate in a study and find out for sure if I had someone close enough.
 
wouldnt tickling a woman in her early 80's be a little dangerous. I guess you like REALLY older women. just kidding i know what na meant

Ticklers sweat too!

Well I can give personal testimony that ticklers sweat and getting into a regular weekly tickling routine and help you lose weight, improve your cardio pulmonar health and develop you concentration abilities plus your creativity. it also improves your autoestime.

I have lost over 40 pounds since I started doing tickling videos.
 
I've wondered this maaany times. At least just for the cardio, which I need regularly or I feel...well, bad in general. Wish I had a ler. Maybe a lee, why not. 😉 I'd much rather be a lee than go work on the stationary bike like I do now.
 
Well, I know it would be a LOT more fun than the South Beach or the Atkins diet. I bet it'd even be more popular than Richard Simmons!
