Best ball gag or other option you all have tried.

Like the title says. Whats the best, most comfortable, most efficient gag any of you have used?

In my experience with gags, especially ball gags, comfort and efficiency don't go together. The idea is to tire out the jaw so a person stops trying to make noise, as well as muffle any sounds with a thick piece of rubber. Personally, I've had great experience with a classic, solid, rubber ballgag.

The ball gag IS a classic. I love them! I would recommend one similar to what Bella Donna linked to, yjgfn. Except go for an actual rubber one(that one is apparently leather). Unless your sub has latex allergies, which is something I never even considered...

I have seen ball-gags like you linked to, yjgfn, except they are typically hard-plastic, like wiffle-balls. The holes allow any and all slave spit to dribble right down, following gravity, like it or not. If you both are into humiliation scenarios, all types of ball-gags are great, and the type I'm talking about with the holes is terrific in that regard. However, I'm not sure how effective a rubber-gag like that with the holes would serve. Also, a drawback to the hard-plastic type is they can leave gum-sores.

But yeah, if you find a nice shiny red or pink rubber ball-gag with the same sort of straps, you've got a winner, yjgfn. Find the right sized ball in the kids toy section of a dollar store, drill through it and push some rope or a long-enough collar through, and you've got your own home-made for one-tenth the cost.

Ball-gags really up the notch during S&M play. There's the silencing effect of course. There's humiliation, both due to the eventual dribbling they typically produce(depending on the sub's position/situation) AND just for having one's jaw unable to close like that. They really enhance the feeling of being under/in control, depending on whether you're the sub or the dom.

The ball-gag can still be used quite effectively in that sort of play. If you enjoy a back-and-forth sort of banter while doing the tickling, you can turn the ball-gag into a sort of option, one that your captive can avoid...but only if she(he) can manage not to laugh, or curse, or answer questions correctly, or some other devil's bargain they can't possibly hope to win. Most women hate to be gagged(I'm generalizing), so make sure it's something that she won't tee-totally freak over.

Otherwise, you can still hear her(his) laughter, pleading, and so on, only muffled. Also, if she(he) is loud, the gag can serve to help NOT wake the neighbors.

Perfectly understandable. I'm just not sure how effective a rubber ball with holes in it could be.

That is a really good question about tape above. I don't have a clue, but agree that packing tape spoils the fun when it's time to remove it. Ouch!



I ran across this picture which sums-up the perfect ball-gag for me. You want a tight-fitting(but not pain-inducing) mouth-filler like this model's wearing. Just looking at this photo, you know the most she can get out is a murmur of protest. 😎

You need to be very careful with tape, some people are allergic and depending how the tape is applied, breathing may be problematic and getting it off is murder,you don't want your woman waxing your chest.
