Guess what is the best possible record that an NFL team could finish with, not including preseason... try and stump your friends...

answer is far below to keep it off of your screen until your ready! ... 😀

although the most common answer is 20-0, its actually 19-0.

An undefeated team at the end of the regular season (16-0) would not play a wild card game, leaving the divisional playoffs, conference playoffs and the Super Bowl© (3 games in the post season).

According to the Bears website, in 1985 they "...post[ed] a 15-1 regular season mark, tying the most regular season wins by a team in NFL history". So NO team has actually ever gone 19-0.

Not until this year's San Francisco 49ers, baby!

And yes, I'm kidding.

That one is easy. It's 19-0. 16 regular season wins, two playoffs wins, and the Super Bowl.

The only NFL team ever to go undefeated for an entire season was the Miami Dolphins, around 1973 or 74. They finished the entire season at 17-0. Back then, the regular season was 14 games, not 16.

Teams have finished with more regular season wins, at 15-1, but there's still that one pesky loss. Perhaps if the season had been 16 games, the Dolphins would not have that undefeated mark.

How many teams ever went 15-1 and went on to win the Big Show? The ones that come to mind are the Bears in 86-87, and the 49ers around 1989.

The '85 Bears and 84 Niners went 15-1 and went on to win the Super Bowl. The Vikings went 15-1 in 1998, but lost the NFC Championship Game to Atlanta, then lost the same game two years later to the Giants.

Hard bein' a Vikes fan sometimes, but I gotta stay loyal. 😎

Certainly won't be Big Blue this year. I can pass against thier secondary, which is pretty pathetic.
