Bill Clinton dozes off at Mets game

Who could blame him? Baseball would put anyone to sleep.

This is for you, Mufasa, and all you other Mets fans: http://www.ifilm.com/ifilmdetail/2766182?ns=1.

The people around him don't exactly look to be on the edge of their seats, either. Was this a baseball game or an Al Gore campaign rally-cum-lecture on global warming?
That is because the Mets were handling their business as usual. Don't hate us because we are good. I suppose you are a whiny Yankee fan though. So how is your $25,000,000 a year player doing in the clutch these days??? To bad Yankees fans resort to this. The ONLY classy Yankees fan on this board is JPie.

Baseball would put anyone to sleep??? Well then why are the Mets going to draw 3.5 million fans??? If they wanted to sleep isn't it less expensive to stay home. So do us all a favor will you and not comment on what you don't know. Because right now you have no clue what you are talking about.

No, not a Yankees nor a Mets fan; not everybody here in Upstate N.Y. roots for New York City teams. I just thought anyone who hadn't seen the clip might have appreciated the link. It didn't matter that the game was at Shea; it could have been anywhere, but I assumed the Mets fans in particular who post and lurk here would have been interested and maybe even amused. The joke was on Clinton, not the Mets. If you watch the clip, the anchor even mentions Beltran's game-winning home run that came after the video was shot. I'm sure even Bill woke up for that.

I hate baseball, thats all you need to know. Pitch, wait 30 fucking seconds, another pitch, rinse wash repeat. If you don't like my opinions, add me to your ignore list. Please, do me that favour.

I don't see the need to swear. I never said I didn't like your opinions. Everyone is entitled to their opinions. I just stated that you are in the minority. You hating baseball does not mean everyone else has to hate baseball. You stated " baseball would put anyone to sleep." Well I was pointing out that you are wrong. If it puts you to sleep fine, but it does not put everyone to sleep. If you don't like baseball that is fine too. But just because you don't like baseball do not speak for the MILLIONS that do, by saying it would put anyone to sleep. Because appartently you are wrong about that.

By the way, I am a HUGE football fan as well and I know that it can take up to 40 seconds between plays. Yet football and baseball can be played in about the same three hour time frame. Baseball most of the time less.

I guess you guys missed the satire in my original post. I'll try and make it blatantly obvious next time.

have you ever honestly given it a chance? i cant imagine someone not feeling the excitement of a double play, a much needed K (thats a strike-out if you are slow), a clutch HR, or something along those lines. ill assume that u are from CHI b/c u have the Bears in your sig. i think you should try and attend a Cub or Sox game b4 this season's end. to be honest, i pity becuz u will never fully enjoy our nation's pastime. football is exciting in it;s own way, as is baseball. there is only one sport in the world that is completely unwatchable and that sport is Curling.

i will infer that the fact that you dont like baseball is seeded in the fact that the cubs have not won the WS since 1908 and until last yr, the W-Sox hadn't won since 1917. for this reason, there has not been much too root for so you gave up on them. this inference only holds true if my hypothesis about you hailing from CHI is correct.

I do watch baseball when the playoffs roll around. Reg season goes on for far too long IMO.

And yes, I am a disgruntled Cubs fan. It seems every curse has been broken except ours. :sadcry:

So then this is a blatant lie, if you watch baseball in the playoffs and you are a Cubs fan. What makes watching playoff baseball different than regular season??? You still need to get 27 out in a game. Nothing changes except the weather is colder. The fact that you only watch in the playoffs means you have no clue who is playing or what they have done throughout the year. So if you wait 30 seconds between pitches and you wait 40 seconds between plays what is the difference??? 🙄

I don't care about the sport enough to follow it through the reg season. Once teams are in the playoffs, then the real battle begins.

and as I said, it was satire.

Ive given baseball a chance and made a decision that watching paint dry is more exciting. :disgust:

Well, to help defend a fellow Chicago resident,I would add that watching the Mets period would put anyone to sleep

And watching the Cubs is watching watching wet paint dry. Like the reason anyone goes to Wrigley these days is to admire the ivy on the wall. Certainly it isn't to watch championship baseball.

Well then, if that's the case, I'll be watching the game from the clouds above. Best seats in the house

remember one thing, and remember it well:
when the day comes, whether dead or alive, when they finally do win, I will never, let you hear the end of it

they are about as exciting as knitting
But how many Championships have we been to in the last 61 years??? And we have only been in exsistance since 1962. Your team is about as exciting to watch as a snail race.
