Its hard not to agree with Mr Cosbys comments and what is so troubling is that it is so true and it brings out alot of emotions from people both black and white. Lots of blacks (my people) are simply embarassed by his comments and rightly or wrongly lash out and lots of whites who are concerned and deathly afraid of a black crime rate again rightly or wrongly this is somthing that is easy for them to stand behind because a respected black man said it.
But you know Mr Cosby was not the first african american to express these views lots of leaders have said the same things for yrs in the black community its just that whites were not aware of it as Jessie Jackson and Al Sharpton have said the same things regardless of what one may think of them, it just that the white general public turn a blind ear when ever they see black civil rights leaders and see them as loudmouth troublemakers. But lots of these people like Calvin Butts who has talked out again and again about gangsta rap are not mainstream and therefore only heard by blacks. Its a shame that it takes a Bill Cosby to get the attention of the general public and this is not a black problem its a national problem that will spread if we all dont wake up because black or white these are all our children.
