Bill passes house to force ISPs to spy on users

Not only will we have a transparent government, but a transparent society. 😛

Yea an excellent point. Not sure how ISPs will keep track of all this info and I am sure the computer experts will find ways around things. 😀 I would check www.eff.org periodically to keep on top of things. They are always looking after everyones "electronic rights".

1. 'Special Intereset' (ISP) will require funds to purchase first-rate storage devices.
2. Government will subsidize negative income(deficits).
3. ISP's will purchase third-rate storage devices.
4. ISP's and 'Special Interest' declares bonuses!
5. And, nobody cares!

You're worrying about little at this point. It got through the House. (These are the things they're doing while putting forth ZERO jobs bills.)

This will die a quick death in the Senate.

I'm not sure where I stand on this, to be honest.

On one hand, I don't exactly feel comfortable being monitored, but on the other hand, I have absolutely nothing to hide. This site is the most incriminating place I visit, and I hardly doubt they're gonna cuff me for that.

However, I understand why people are upset about this, and they have every right to be. This is an invasion of privacy without any reasonable suspicion. Sure, this sounds like a good idea... but the people who can do the real damage on the internet (hackers, anonymous organizations, etc.) know how to get around things like this. They've spent their whole lives learning how. That's not even mentioning the fact that you can change your IP address at a whim, and toss in the variable of having 300 million+ people to watch... yeah. Good luck with that.

Oh, don't get me wrong; I completely agree.

I'm sure that as I step farther out into the world, I'll realize how potentially disastrous that is. Right now, I don't have a lot of personal information that could really hurt me. Sure, I'd be embarrassed as all hell if people found out about my fetish, but I could just delete my facebook and be done with it. I'd get a few odd glances every now and again while walking down the street, but there are worse things that could happen.
