You philosophy: Life is good, but short. I believe in being considerate of others, but we shouldn't be afraid of whom we offend by expressing how we feel. That may seem contradictory, but I believe there is an achievable balance. Don't make a point of pissing people off, but at the same time, don't be a doormat either.

Yes, Dave. Egg cremes. Problem is, you can't have a REAL egg creme anymore. Unless you can find seltzer bottles with spigots, or you can afford your own soda fountain in your kitchen. Today you have to settle for the store seltzer, in plastic bottles. Luckily, by me, you can find Fox's 'U-Bet' chocolate syrup in the Kosher section at the supermarket. It's not an egg creme without Fox's 'U-Bet', I don't care how similar the Hershey's tastes! Add a dash or two of milk, and there you go.

I remember I was ten years old, and the whole family's sitting around the TV, watching a televised showing of "West Side Story", and my uncle (only seven years my senior), who was living with us, and was for all intents and purposes my older brother, got up, and went into the kitchen to make egg cremes for both him and my dad. I followed him into the kitchen, and asked him if he could make me one. He turned to me, waved a flat, outstretched hand, and said, "you're an egg creme." As he walked out of the kitchen, with a smug smile, I followed him out, and went, "Hey!"

It's not the same unless the seltzer bottle has the spigots. You're also right about the syrup. Hersheys just doesn't cut it. AFA the seltzer, it would come close if you just open the bottle otherwise, it's too flat. It is the eggcream that I miss, but it also kind of takes me back to a time when things were so much simpler. I haven't had one of those in so long. what a blast from the past!
