Book cover: Driving with the Top Down

What is it with book publishers these days? Far more book covers feature feet these days than at any time I can remember. Not that I'm complaining, mind you--it's great to be perusing the stacks at my local B&N, only to be stopped in my tracks by a cover like this one:
