It's getting attention as "the gay cowboy movie", but the truth of the matter is, it's a love story, that happens to take place between to men.

BTW, Brokeback Mountain is the #4 movie in the UK now.

Golden Globes ended 20 mintues ago.

Out of 7 nominations, it won 4 awards, the most of any movie this year.

I give it 3 stars out of 4, the acting was excellent, but there were parts where it dragged and just seemed a little too interested in filming the scenery and nothing else.

I'd say Munich should have won, but it wasn't nominated for some insane reason.

I have some pissy news: Brokeback Mountain is playing in Canada, but not where I live. Actually, it's only playing in one province of Canada and that's in Alberta... Of all places. (Only Canadians would get that I suppose). 😛

So I can't see it. Maybe it'll come out on video where I live. If not, well, I'll just have to think of how good it is and wish I could see it and Jake. 😛 Boo ya!

I have several friends in Canada, including one in Edmonton, so I got it instantly 😀 It does seem surprising that it would be playing there rather than someplace like Ontario.

Boy, Mistress, are you some lucky... My brother lives in Alberta, actually. Not in Edmonton, but somewhere near there... Dunno exactly. Anyways, I don't talk to him much, so getting him to actually get me the movie...

Sorry to raise a "dead thread", but just wanted to post some more info.

Brokeback is up to $66.5 million, a profit of $52 mil.

Two props from the movie (two shirts worn by Heath Ledger and Jake Gyllenhaal) are up for bid on ebay, all proceeds going to a children's hospital. The current bid is $25,000.00

Yeah, you know as the buzz increases, i'm more and more interested. And you can't say 'nuff about the hot guys on the screen!! - you have to agree😛

I guess i can't take tragedies too well, which i suspect this is. But maybe i'm wrong - and maybe i can take it for the beauty of the whole experience!

I saw Brokeback a little while ago and thought it was quite good - well acted and nice secenery although for me it went on a bit too long and wasn't as good as Walk the Line which I saw the other day. Brokeback will probably still clean up at every awards ceremony going though.
