i hope he gets better soon, wasn't sure if any of the football/patriots fans were aware of this so i figured i'd post it.

BOSTON (AP) - New England Patriots linebacker Tedy Bruschi suffered a mild stroke but is walking, talking and in good spirits, the team said Thursday.

Bruschi experienced temporary numbness, blurred vision and headaches Wednesday night and was taken to Massachusetts General Hospital.

"It has been determined that these symptoms were the results of a mild stroke," team spokesman Stacey James said. "Tedy is in good condition and, as always, his spirits are high. He is walking and talking normally and stressed that he would like to thank everyone for keeping him and his family in their thoughts and prayers."

The Patriots said Bruschi could be released as early as Friday.

"The outpouring of support has been overwhelming and the Bruschi family is very appreciative," James said.

A nine-year NFL veteran, Bruschi is the centerpiece of the Patriots defense that helped the team win three of the past four Super Bowls, including a 24-21 win over the Philadelphia Eagles on Feb. 6.

On Sunday, Bruschi played in his first Pro Bowl.

Bruschi, 31, was selected as the AFC's Defensive Player of the Week three times, including the first-round playoff victory over the Indianapolis Colts. A second team Associated Press All-Pro selection, he ranked second on the team with 128 tackles and tied for second with three interceptions.

He had two fumble recoveries in the team's 20-3 playoff win over the Indianapolis Colts, and an interception in the Super Bowl.

31 Is Too Young

Im a NY Jets fan hence a New England Patriots hater but thats irrelevant as I pray Teddy Bruschi gets better soon and makes a full recovery. Someone I know died of a stroke but didnt have one as young as 31 years old. Granted Teddys wasnt nearly as serious thank God but things like this make you think. Teddy Bruschi is 2 years younger than me! Well I hope hes ok for the 2005 football season although I will be rooting for Jason Fabini to keep him away from Chad Pennington! Get Well Teddy!!! 😉

Mr Defense in New England, Tedy Bruschi, is a warrior. Glad to hear the 'stroke' was mild, and that he is in full recovery mode.
He is class, bar none, and I hope he wreaks havok again next season.
Oh, gg25 - what's with Bledsoe bieng left out to the wind by your Bills?

It's good to hear he's recovering. I'm not a big Patriots fan, but I've been a Bruschi fan since watching him play college ball at Arizona. Let's hope he gets better and can come back strong next season.

Wish him the best of recovery...too many dead 2 soon.

Iam very sorry to hear this. I hope Mr Bruschi makes a full recovery. This is a sobering thought. A cousin of mine who I havent seen for a while had a stroke while driving when she was in her early 20s, but she is supposedly okay. While strokes can happen, instances of such in such a young person are rare. Hopefully, the prognosis for Mr Bruschi will be good, and he will make a full recovery.
