With the permission of the Mods, I'd like to keep this post here since this is where the tickle video producers congregate. This post is to help all tickle video producers have more succesful video clip stores.

=========================================================

I've just posted the first blog at myspace.com/tickling in a three part series on building a successful video clip store.

This is intended to help two groups; producers who currently run a video clip store and those thinking of starting a video clip store – There articles are to help both groups understand some of the ways they can increase their appeal to customers, increase the value their video products offer and how to increase sales without spending a dime.

The topics covered in each of the three blogs are listed below

Blog 1. Default to Newest First - Setting the default view of your clipstore, naming your store, Email contact - Letting visitors contact you, Video clip descriptions. Preview video clips. Pricing. Background color & text color - Flashy colors and easily viewed sites, */m &*/f tickling - Gender, Picture backgrounds

Blog 2. Audio on the site, Video file format, Video file size, HD (High Definition) vs. SD (Standard Definition) video

Blog 3. Video production quality - Lighting, camera, sound, editing, effects

As a companion to these blogs, I'll be writing some production specific articles in the "Laughter Weekly Magazine" (http://www.laughterweekly.com/). I'll let you know when those are available.

Hey Jim! Very helpful and informative....I've thought about starting my own clip company for years and it's been percolating in my mind even more the last year or so!

My question is this: I didn't see anything about finding models, what you pay them, model releases, legalities and tax stuff. And maybe any other tips you have about working with models.

I also want to say that I've solicited opinions from video producers for years and have always gotten some cagey answers, like they really didn't want to answer. Maybe fear of competition, i guess. Anyhow, I really appreciate your very generous article because........and I hate to say this......we need a new batch of good producers. I feel like the tickling clips scene hasn't been this bad since the mid 90s. Tickle Central - once my favorite company and the one I bought hundreds of dollars of clips from- doesn't post previews anymore (and I simply can't take a gamble because even the greatest companies have duds or girls that aren't to my taste so I haven't bought from them in a short eternity. Brad, if you're reading this, I don't know what the deal is, but really, please, start posting previews again), Real Tickling has been bought up and the new clips are really lame.....and though there are some other nice companies, it's not like it was even a year ago. (people who complain about the last year of Real Tickling I think are out to lunch, some of the best clips came out in the last year, including Mary Kay, probably my favorite all time tickle model). French Tickling is still going strong, and you, of course, and there's others, don't get me wrong, but the time is right for some new companies. So this article is very timely!

My biggest pet peeve in clips are companies that just do a million fetishes, and tickling is one of them: these companies can sometimes get hot models but the tickling is often clueless and lame. I prefer companies that actually "get" the fetish so, again, I'm psyched to see what this might inspire! There's alot of really great, sound advice!

Looking forward to part two and three!

yep, I agree with this, but I guess in the final analysis it's a marketing decision made by each company. So now, I just buy from the companies that provide sample clips, if I like their work, as a show of support for their contribution to the tickle community. Actually, there are too many companies out now that do provide sample clips of their work (Frenchtickling, Dungeonmaidens, The Last laugh and Brazil tickling are great examples, free sample clips and they get some pretty good tickle models in some of their features) for me to risk my money on some tickle company that provides only sample pics, or nothing at all. Some companies even use YouTube and other less costly resources if they are really serious about getting their work out to us.

I'll cover that stuff as well. I'll probably put that in my Laughter Weekly Magazine "On The Darke Side" column.
