Liner Notes: When I was a little feller, Flintstones reruns were part of everyday life. But even at that young age something always struck me as odd: Why did everyone visit and stay at the Flintstone residence? Why, out of all the possible places to stay in Bedrock, would a famous person pick this random dwelling in a sea of prehistoric suburbia? Sure, even then I understood the storyline; Hollyrock star wants to escape the crowds and paparazzi and downtown hubbub so they shack up with some local yokels until business in town is finished. I got that. But always the Flinstones house? Always! Geez, Fred, forget the get-rich-quick schemes and play the lottery. Uncanny odds. Of course the adult in me knows the mundane answer, "Because it wouldn't be a show otherwise." Duh.

However, the fetishist in me recently revisited the question, and I think I have a more satisfying answer now, a yummy answer. Wilma and Betty tried to sneak into the men-only Water Buffalo Lodge once, and got the ass paddling of their lives running a gauntlet of corporal punishment. My guess is, shortly after, they realized they had a taste for it. Wilma, a natural Dominatrix is there ever was one, began to fill her homemaker days with an alternative 'gay-old-time' while Fred and Barney bust their asses down at the quarry. Word spread to those in the know and… Yabba-Dabba-Do-Me!… Ann Margrock and Samantha Stevens are looking for an excuse drop by and exchange Brontoburger recipes… for a week or more. Very juicy recipes, to be sure.
