C.A.B. Presents: Al Shaytan - Chapter One

I love where this is going and can't wait to see the next installment. Your work is brilliant. Thanks for sharing it so generously.

Augustine

Thanks again folks... thanks Bo, for that in-depth analysis. Your time is much appreciated.

New chapter is in the works!

I'm a bit late in getting to this myself, but this truly is an amazing piece of work. It reminds me of the very best of the old DC/Vertigo titles from the 90s (yes, I'm not just a geek, I'm an OLD geek). The writing is every bit as impressive as the artwork - I read a lot of fantasy fiction and the dialogue here easily tops most of the novelists out there for classical simplicity and regal elegance. This gentleman really is one of the best, and I can't wait to see what he does this year...

No... No. Not that old.

sheesh... I must be a fossil.

Thank you for your comments!

Liner notes: The inspiration came to me while stuck in traffic, remembering the most excellent 1940 Thief of Baghdad and its consummate over-the-top genie (performed by Rex Ingram. http:// www.youtube.com/ watch?v=ptqjgqUnRfE&feature=fvw/watch?v=Dqp3mKfBaJk - skip to 1:03:48) The effects in the film are cheesy by today's standard, but pretty advanced for the time.

Wonderful inspiration. I am a fan of the golden oldies and the 1940 Thief of Baghdad is an amazing film with fantastic special effects for the time period.

Al Shaytan promises to me one of your most epic works to date. I am looking forward to future chapters.
