Can we make an AI section?

It's not a bad idea. The only problem is there isn't a hard and fast line on what's AI and what's art, because a lot of people take AI elements and rework and combine and modify them in ways that go far beyond AI. So it's not always clear what should go where. The AI images I make are 100% AI. Those are easy. (I deliberately avoid making them look like they were drawn. I can't draw, so I'm more comfortable making AI images that look photographic.) But many others do a lot with AI elements that is a lot more artistic than anything I do.

Of course one way of handling that would simply be to say "anything with AI elements goes in the AI section," regardless of how much extra work is put into the material. Personally, I would be OK with that.

That's something I'd consider, but I'd want to hear how AI artists feel about that distinction. Because as Owen observed, there's a lot of range in what could be counted as AI art.

And it's always risky to start splitting up a forum into too many pieces. As more and more people embrace AI, I don't want to turn the top-level artwork forum into a content desert.

Couldn't we just label them like we label clips and stories with M/F, F/M, etc?

Putting an AI generated tag will help people decide if they want to click or scroll past rather than relegated it to its own area.

I’d be on board with some sort of tags/distinction for stories. Although with photos you wouldn’t need it, that slop is noticeable a mile off.

Some have mentioned tags. I'd be down to have things tagged, but if that could also mean I could filter out those that are in fact AI generated. I don't mind the use of it for assistance, but if I see like page after page of just that, I look elsewhere.

Look. The only way I see that this can be incorporated is to create an entire new subforum of forums that are AI generated. And keeping the organic content as organic.

I advocate heavily to everyone to use tags, regardless of it being AI, as it will boost up the SEO of this forum and welcome in folks still looking for a proverbial 'home'.

I just strongly side on the end of the sense of community and forum. I want to be able to answer questions and talk to other people that aren't bots or utilizing AI to create conversation due to their own ineptitude or laziness.

Lots of tiny sub forums kinda takes away from the community feeling. It was fun to read a story and not know if it was fiction or non fiction. A sub forum means you have to go looking for something and can’t just stumble into it.

This would make sense if forum didn't already split stories into True and Fiction.

My only request is that the folks who add AI stories to the Stories section better their prompts. Because right now it looks like they're just putting in a very basic amount of work, and frankly, most of the stories suck. And it's entirely possible to write decent AI tickling fiction. Just needs a little bit of effort.

Given the range of ways AI is used (the point I raised above), if tags are settled on as the solution one possibility would be to use different tags for pure AI and for AI with artistic intervention - like "AI" and "w/ AI elements," or something like that.

Eh, I kinda disagree. I think I'd like to know if a story is real life or fake. There's a certain sexiness to reading a story that actually happened and reading someone share their experience. But I get what youre saying.

On the topic at hand, I am fine with a tag instead of a sub-forum. That way I can just scroll past the AI stuff and keep it moving. Probably easier as well than creating a new sub forum on here

Why is AI even allowed ...? Are the people that are generating these images getting permission from the original artists before feeding it to the generator? I'd bet money they're not. If you have to have it here, at least slap a tag on it. I'm SO tired of seeing 600 versions of uncanny laughing faces and 4-9 fingers that look like a precursor to a early 2000's creepypasta posted because someone's peepee was hard.

I don't want to disrespect OP or those into AI, but I agree with the others of not being a fan of it. But I'm also not stupid and know that there are many gooners who will do all they can to utilize AI to create their own fantasy scenes and sequences. I don't want to see Forum become completely reliant on AI, I want to see a place for proper Community and Real People, but I also know the draw many people have for it. I genuinely feel that it should be separated to its own format of 'community' solely within a subforum of its own.

This will allow Chat GPT "writers", people posting AI art and videos to be separated from the organic and genuine element of this Forum and website. There can be one area for AI Gen Dis and all threads pertaining to AI specifically can go there.

Will it split up the forum? Absolutely. But people want in-organic formats to showcase their fetish. That directly opposes to those of us who enjoy real organic. You'd have to split it up.

As artificial intelligence gets more prevalent in this forum, I’m wondering if it is possible to make it its own category for stories, artwork, images, and wherever else?

Interested to hear thoughts on this.
I would love this. AI needs it's own subforum. I wanted to bring it up but TMF is rarely a very welcoming place of ideas like that. I never tend to speak up against these things because it tends to get backlash and then the experience just gets soured.

While I see a few artist tell you "This is AI art" in the title, a lot do not and it makes it difficult to shift through it all.

While I'm for AI use in art, within reason, I do think it needs to have it's own subforum.

Agree. I don't mean for it to sound offensive but it should be sectioned off. Makes it easier for the minimal moderation that is about, and a clear and easy area for those who enjoy it to navigate to.
