I have found that sometimes I can be tickled to where I'm not ticklish anymore. Or at least for awhile usually it will come back but sometimes I'm not ticklish for like a whole day. That doesn't really make me happy at all (it doesn't make my boyfriend happy either). I was just wondering if this has happend to anyone else.

"Unticklish"

Ugh! No. That's never happened to me. One of my friends once tried to talk me into letting him tickle me for an extended period because he said that someone had tickled him for quite the while and it made him "unticklish". (Which I believe because I've tickled his arm pits, feet and ribs and got absolutely no response).

The Whimsical Ninja Shares His Insight!

I think I may know a little of the strange phenomenon you're referring to, elfriend. Some have called it desensitization and I call it just plain crazy. There are instances in a person's life when he or she has smelled something for so long that this individual can no longer pick up the scent. Another instance would be to have been in pain for such a long period of time that one's threshold for it is increased. I have never heard of this kind of occurrence with tickling, however, until tonight. Maybe you've made a breakthrough! Now, I must find a willing female to use as a guinea pig in order to research this theory...

De-Sensitization

Dear Elfriend,

In my over 20 years of tickling experiences...it's common for someone to become unticklish in a particular part...or all over once they've been tickled for anything from 30-90 minutes depending upon how much of their body I've been concentrating on.

In the past, I believed them when they were tickled out...I would give them 5 minutes to rest and then try again...if they were no longer ticklish...so be it. Since then, I've developed a way to hypnotize people back into ticklish. It doesn't work if I tell you how it's done...if your boyfriend wishes to write to me...I'll tell him the secret.

Perhaps you'll be more ticklish, longer in the very near future.

I think kirasao and StephanieLocke summed it up. When something happens to the human body for an extended period that area just shuts down to the sensation. So weather it be tickling or pain, heat or cold. It's the bodies natural defense kicking in and yes some people it will take 5 minutes and some hours or days or longer to become sensitive to those particular feelings again. Just as your mind shuts out emotional pain and trama so will your nervous system. Just remember when tickling, or anything for that matter, to change motion/rhythm/area/hard/soft and do it often. This will help the desensitizing of the nerve endings. And when all else fails you can either wait and give your lee/sub a breather or use a stimulation from the other end of the spectrum to "shock" the system back to normal.

Hehe and thats all I have to say about that! 😛

im not sure never having experienced it myself yet, however the times i've tickled myself for someone, after a while it doesnt tickle anymore. i dont know if that is the same thing or not. and elffriend you are a doll glad you are here.

I've seen many instances of this happening. It does seem to fall somewhere after 30 minutes and generally happens as a total body response. In my personal and unscientific opinion - your body releases chemicals, endorphins, and adrenaline while being tickled. This is because your body is confused and is reacting slightly similar to being in pain. The same effect of having pain happens and the sensations will be dulled.

Also, it has been posed many times that the reason for a ticklish reaction is psychological - that it's a playful attack and the anticipation and excitement of not knowing what will happen causes a lot of the reaction. It would make sense that after a long period of the same thing happening, your psychological response would be lessened due to knowing what will happen.

Like I said, I haven't tested these theories with scientific studies, but from my research they seem to make sense.

I don't become desensitized, at least not within 45 minutes, which is the longest I've endured without a break. But I have seen it happen at gatherings, sometimes after only 10 minutes or so, that somebody just stops reacting. Usually it is one area only that has been desensitized, so switching regions (such as from feet to belly or armpits) will solve the problem. 😀

There are some VERY sophisticated ticklers at the TMF....and I agree...suprise and anticipation is a big element...after awhile, the suprise is gone...and the body has grown de-sensitized...switching body parts...giving rest...all a good idea.

Milagros317, in your case, I would recommend that 3 or more tickle you at the same time. While you may not be "tickled out" in 45 minutes...You Will Be Exhausted!

p.s. my bravest 'ler took 1 hour with 8 girls from the Dominion passing through to assist. At any given time there were a minimum of 2 staff members with us...with gusts of the full 8. When we were done, he was literally hanging off the side of the bondage bed. Still captured, all tied up and nowhere to go...just hanging sideways off the equipment. Quite an amazing reaction. I wish I could have taken a picture. There was a gleam in his eye that was almost crazed, he was breathless, panting and willing to concede defeat. We were both very happy that day.

The session in question involved two ticklers, Mistress Zara and Mistress Kassandra. I gave a full account of it here:

Maybe someday I will set up a session with 3 or 4 ticklers. 😱

Its completely possible. i tickled a woman who went nuts for about 30 minutes, then went totally dead! not even a flinch after. i was amazed.

thanks for all the feedback! It is such a weird thing that drives me crazy and I will most definately try out everyones suggestions.

Sounds familiar

This same thing hapens for my g/f, not always but quite often if I tickle her for much more than about 20 mins, she will tire and when she tires she becomes less ticklish if not completely "unticklish".

Tickled out......

Hi Elfriend! You know, just from observations from this forum, I would think that if your B/F were to mix the tickling with stimulation, perhaps even to orgasm, your body would have more than just the tickling input and might just take your mind, both concious and sub-concious off it enough to keep you laughing for a longer period of time. :idunno: Hey, who knows, it could work. :illogical

As her boyfriend, I fully think that you may have a point there robmic, and we may just have to try that out

Two ideas...three if you include Robmics idea...

One use a Sonicare...problem usually solved! as far as being de-sensitized that is...this usually leads to Robmics idea LOL

The other idea is to add lotion, like a bit of baby oil or any thin lotion.
This makes the skin slick and lets the fingers/nails glide a bit more and create a different sensation...in fact using baby oil will also keep the skin from getting "pink" during tickling therefor extending the tickling time.
Actually, when I have tickled someone pink, I then move on or add lotion because the nails are causing too much friction on the skin.

Dear Milagros317,

I made a point of reading your session thread and I'm impressed and amused for a number of reasons...the nice sock gag made me very happy...the dice games could be fun...the fact that you feel like you're about to faint at various times made me happiest of all.

Perhaps next time your Mistress will invite even more tormentors.

Or the thread could have been called 'Can You Eat Too Much Chocolate'.

Desensitization, vaguely aware of this but my thoughts are keep going over different areas with progressively worse tickling tools & possibly the occasional break of a minute or two (but don’t let them know it’s a break keep em in suspense show them what there gona get tickle with etc). Do all that stuff and you should be fine. :tickle:

Also if any one in interested:

Q: 'Can You Eat Too Much Chocolate'

A: Yes… although the lethal dose is quite high for humans IT IS POISONOUS, in fact the chocolate contained in one just one Smartie would be enough to kill a small song bird.

Wondering where the hell I heard that? http://www.bbc.co.uk/comedy/qi/ 😀

It's never happened to me so far!!! But then, given my sensitivity levels, that's no surprise. <<<<----

Can you imagine how painful it would be for a small song bird to try and swallow a Smartie (probably the same as us trying to swallow a biscuit tin) ? Of course a Smartie would kill it, because it would choke to death. :sadcry:

That’s probably they Chocolate poisoning isn’t a major cause of death for song birds then… I wonder if a titmouse could eat a smartie???... Anyway the point is that there is no such thing as to much tickling and those who think there is deserve to be tickled with out mercy!!! :firedevil

I Vehemently Disagree

While that may be your opinion and one that no doubt you have fun quoting , the truth is...you CAN tickle too much. I don't mean tickling someone until they're too weak to move...that's a common occurance and actually pretty easy to create...SOMEONE HAS BEEN TICKLED TOO MUCH WHEN THE ACT HAS BROUGHT THEM TO THE POINT OF HYPERVENTILATION AND PANIC.

AT THAT POINT, I RECOMMEND STOPPING...ESPECIALLY IF YOUR CHOSEN PLAYMATE IS ASTHMATIC.

I am actually fortunately.... and sometimes unfortunately.... one of those people who doesn't "desensitize"... but I've noticed that if you switch tools and/or technique with someone who does that they become much more "lively".

Precisely correct, Ticklkitten, vary your techniques and you'll vary the result and postpone if not completely avoid being "tickled out".

Interesting to read that you can be tickled and tickled and tickled....
