Can you just tell when someone is going to be ticklish before you even tickle them?

I've heard people say that sometimes they just "know" someone is going to be ticklish before they tickle the person, and then it turns out to be true. Why is this? Are there certain personality traits or temperamental tells about a person that signals ticklishness?

Personally, I've noticed that emotionally sensitive people tend to be physically sensitive as well, so that may be one thing that signals that someone is ticklish. I've also noticed that people who give off a vulnerable vibe tend to be ticklish, but it has to be a certain type of vulnerability. Like, for example, Taylor Swift is someone who I think is probably extremely ticklish. She seems strong but also very sensitive and vulnerable. It's hard to explain.

Anyone have any thoughts on this?

Women with Resting Bitch Face tend to be very ticklish. Athletes are usually very ticklish. People who walk barefoot everywhere usually aren't ticklish on their feet in my experience.

I feel like its more about the surprise attack because I feel like if people know tickling is coming they usually can block it or hold it in

I think you can assume someone is but you can't just tell off the back. Although I think in women its a little easier for them to figure out if someone is ticklish or not then it will a guy

I think this is more about wishfull thinking. I don't know how many times I've read here that she 'looks' ticklish, but before you take it out for a test spin, you'll never know.

Yeah definitely doesn't work for me. Girl I know came over and started to give her a footrub and tickled her feet and she just looked and said "nope, not ticklish at all". She had small soft feet, and I would've SWORN they'd be ticklish, but alas, nope.

It depends on how long before you are talking about. If you see a pretty girl you don't know walking down the the street and she has no idea you're going to tickle her, then I'd say there's no way to know for sure. However my experience is that more girls are ticklish than not, especially when taken by surprise.

On the other hand if you're with a girl and you give her an evil grin and start wiggling your fingers menacingly in her direction, then more often than not, her reactions will betray her vulnerability.

Send thousands of minion ants their way. if they feel the ants crawling on them and it startles them... then yes, they are ticklish.

step 2: arm minion ants to "tickle torture".

Do you think that if you heard them laugh, that would make you lean on the side that they are ticklish?
