Can you teach someone to kiss?

Hi there,

I am enjoying the company of this really, nice, cute, sweet guy.

We shared our first long, passionate kiss last night and I hate to say it, but HE'S A BAD KISSER!!!

His mouth pushes too hard on mine, extending mine to open so much that it hurts me. Then he just pushed his tongue in my mouth and it was like it just hung out there. I tried to use my tongue to play with his, but then I just felt suffocated and had to turn away to get out of it.

Oh man....he's sooooooooooooo cute and nice!! Any ideas on what I can do?

Haha, I swear to god when I first met my husband he kissed just liked that.. but over time he must of picked up on things I was doing and got better. So there possibly is hope for him! lol.

You can definitely teach a guy to kiss. AND it's pretty hot too.

Ask him to lay down (couch, bed, floor is fine) and tell him to keep his hands down and NOT to move his lips.

And YOU kiss him! Remind him to relax his mouth and not move his lips, or his tongue at first. As you are kissing him softly, sweetly, gently, teasingly, (on the outside of his lips) tell him that THIS is the way you love to be kissed.

Now explore his mouth with your tongue very slowly... and again tell him that THIS is the way you love to be kissed. Increase the passion of your kiss and allow him to move and join you. If he has ANY skill at all, he will follow your lead and kiss you back, sweetly, softly, teasingly....

If after all that, if after you show him step by step how to make you tingle with his kisses... if after all that, he is still awful... give him a high-five and don't kiss him anymore. 😛

I'm a kissy girl and boys who don't know how to kiss always shock me. I do tend to believe you can't teach good kissing but damnit I try to change the bad ones when I find them.

I think the rule here is to go soft, slow and subtle to start and then increase intensity as desired.

I personally know one man (yes MAN not boy) who kisses so intensely his nose actually pushes so hard into your face you have to back away - it'll make your head hurt (or cut off your breathing)!

Be honest...
Go slow...
Show them what you like...
And, if they still don't get it... move on! You deserve better!

Agreed. You don't have to necessarily be explicit about it, but guys can *usually* pick up on whether you're enjoying something or not when you give us those little signals to point us in the right direction.

It happens the other way round, too. I had a girlfriend about 3 years back that used to eat my face off. I'm no good at subtlety, however, and just told her to calm down. 😛

I totally think you can teach someone how to kiss! Lol, I can remember making out with my boyfriend as a young teen and we would bang teeth every single time. But....with a lot of practice (damn teen hormones), we seemed to perfect the kiss that was perfect for us. Good luck and have fun practicing!
