Cannot find member's profile

Hello, I can't find a member's profile, when I put their name in it says, "This user's profile is not available." I talked to this person in the chatroom, and when I asked them about it, they said they do have a profile, and didn't know why I couldn't see it. I don't have this problem with anyone else here. Can you tell me what the problem is? I'm not sure if it's right for me to give you their name, though I think maybe I should so you can try it. I know some people have it set so only certain people can see their profile, but they didn't tell me this when I asked them. Thanks for your help.
