cd question

hey everyone. My appologies for any annoyance, ignorance, re-postage, incorrect area postage or anything bad about this. I was just wondering, I have a few clips I wanted to get on CD so I wouldn't have to worry about them on my harddrive. I have been able to do this before, but for some reason my new program only burns ".mpg" files. How do I get the others to burn. Please help if you can. Thanks, and again sorry for any fuck-ups of this post.

What OS are you using? If you are using Windows XP there is a built in CD burning program. All you need to do is go to Windows Explorer, choose the files you want to burn, drag them to the CD writing drive, and when you're ready you right click on the cd drive and choose Burn files to CD.
If you're not running Windows XP there are free and trial software you can download. 🙂

That depends of your OS and your application. Particularly, i have Win XP pro and i use Nero Burning tool, then i choose to create a new CD (using the wizard) and choose create data cd instead of audio, the rest is drag-&-drop files, from a window into another.

If you have the option to burn as a data CD rather than a media one you can generally get around annoying things like that. Check it out. It might save some work. If not, I'm not sure what to tell you.

Hi..you can also check for updated files for your cd burning software. A lot of them have free upgrades that add more abilities.

thank you all for the help. I have windows 98 I think, or 2000. Not XP on this computer. I downloaded the free trial of Nero which worked for me (Nero being what I used to have) Now I have Roxio CD creator or something of that nature. I think I will check an update on that, but Nero is deffinately the way to go. Again thanks to all.
