Chances are I wouldn't see those consequences coming if I was a politician. The problem with them, especially when they're young and therefore naive, is they think they're going to provide a helpful service to the voters, but what they don't want to accept is they're secretly a controlling person, and that becomes more obvious the longer they stay in politics. This is why people say power corrupts, and politicians get whatever karma and criticism that gets thrown their way (which is being tickle tortured in this case).
