I picked up the Sunday Austin American-Statesman yesterday. Have not had a chance to read it but from a quick scan I can report the following: The Bastrop fire was 50% contained as of yesterday. Over 1,700 homes and other buildings destroyed, including the homes of 11 Bastrop firefighters. The second fatality has been identified. In the disgusting news department there are reports of looting in the area. If anyone care spare a few dollars for the Red Cross it would be greatly appreciated. Many who lost everything will need assistance for quite some time.
