Chat room and MacOSX

Hey Myriads,
I once had problems with the chat room and you told me that I actually needed MacOSX instead of OS9.

Well, I have a brand new computer with MacOS 10.3.4 and I click on the chat room and it does nothing.

I am logged in. What to do? Is this something I should be using iChat for or something?

Odd. I'm running under that OS version with no troubles.

Here is the checklist

1) Are you logged in? If you are not you cannot enter the chat forum

2) If you can enter the chat forum, they you will see the enter chatroom link. This is what you click to enter the room.

3) If you click the link and nothing happens (and give it a bit your first load may take several minutes) then your Java may not be active. Can you enter a random Yahoo chat room? Try that. If you cannot then the issue is with the Java and not our room.

Report back and tell me what happens.

Still no luck.

I am signed in, I have the cookies enabled to remember me even.

The Tickling Media Forum > INTERACTION > Chat Room > Enter the TMF Chat Room

I get that far then underneath the Chat room terms is the nice shiny Cup of tea with a circle around it. After waiting for a time for it to load, it becomes a grey box with a small cup of tea in the top left hand corner. There doesn't appear to be anything that I can do with this.

I cannot access Yahoo rooms either.

In the Safari preferences, (under advanced) I have Plugins, Java and Java Script enabled... but pop up windows is left unchecked.

According to my installed plugins I have Java 1.3.1 Java 1.3.1 (CMF) and Java 1.4.2 (cocoa) installed.

OK, as you cannot access the yahoo rooms that tells us the problem.

Bad Java.

Take a walk over to Sun.com and see what they have to offer in the way of New java's. Take a peek on apples page also.

Odds are something is out of wack in the version syou have. Which blows as it's brand new. :-( But odds are it's fixable even if you need to step back a version.
